Tech and we're going to talk about audio

in the context of gaming and a lot of

different products in each price range

both in form factor personal use cases

preferences Etc there's no right product

out there for everybody that's why I've

always avoided tier lists there's no

definitive top pick at every price range

everyone's going to have their own

preferences and that's okay there's also

going to be some products I completely

skip over even if they are still good

products so just because I didn't talk

about it doesn't mean it's bad just as a

spoiler Corsair makes a lot of great

headsets that I've used I've like the

virtu ELO Pro the hs80 max they won't be

brought up or compared to other products

in this particular video doesn't mean

they're bad but I'm trying to keep it

concise now to take that a step further

spending more money doesn't make you a

magically better player either we can

spend more money because we want certain

features certain Comfort maybe it's

purely the design or microphone or

battery life there are reasons to spend

more but if your only reason is to

become an Esports level player and be

better than everyone else you're not

going to get that scalability a $30

inear monitor or IM could still get you

to be just as competitive is a $500

audio file headphone when it comes to

gaming a lot of the audio cues rely on

the game to not suck and your product is

to get the most out of what the game's

putting out there are certain benefits

of course to spending more money and I

will talk about that in this review but

don't feel like just because you have a

$50 product that buying a $500 one is

going to transform you into a top tier

player in itself now I purchased a huge

majority of the products you're about to

see in this video this video is very

unbiased I'm talking to you as if you're

my friends cuz my goal is to you know if

I ever run into in the street one day

you don't feel like I ever misled you I

love to help people out and that's the

reason why I started this channel I have

a day job and frankly I would make more

content if I could but it's a matter of

time originally I wanted to make this

video in separate categories like one

just for IMS one for wireless wired Etc

but because of all of the other projects

I'm working on for the channel I'm going

to roll everything into one so I will

help you purchase any of these products

I talked about it will support the

they're just going to be generic Amazon

said we're going to start with IMS and I

have this is a watch case by the way um

I just love this case because it uh

presents IM IMS well it's under 30 bucks

and if you have a lot of IMS or small

earbuds or something like that I'll have

a link in the description for that so

let's start with the budget category and

I have a top two pick under $30 you have

the tangu wer SG which is I think about

27 bucks they have a lot of different

color finishes I love the sound profile

for gaming they are extremely

comfortable I like the cable it comes

with it's a two- Pin cable but it's good

enough for the price range frankly just

to be straight it's one of my top value

picks in general and I think the design

is pretty cool they have a good base

response it's a very versatile TB works

well for single story gaming and the

treble Isn't So abrasive that it hurts

it is brighter than the other sub $30

pick which is the sound notes 02 a new

newer I uh these are still comfortable

the bore size is a little bit bigger

they have um a nice strong base shelf

and a smoother treble so if you want

something a little bit darker sounding

and not as bright as the wers then uh

the zero might be your pick the cable is

super janky I do not like this cable at

all so the issue is if you buy a better

cable to you know get um a better

product out of it this to me is just a

much better value it's just a matter of

personal sound pick you can't go wrong

with either um my pick is the wers

though then you get into the chical Reds

these are um 50 55 bucks they have great

tuning in fact the bass and treble

tuning is one of my favorites um in

general under a 100 bucks they uh

absolutely blow the doors off of most

audio products under 100 my only issue

I've ever had with these Reds the is the

nozzle size it is a larger IM this shape

and the thickness of the diameter of

this nozzle uh can lead to discomfort

for some people if you are sensitive to

a large board

then you may find discomfort if you

don't know if you are this is still one

of the best gaming picks under under 100

bucks even so give it a shot and if you

don't like it maybe uh do the return

from there for long-term Comfort but

purely on a sound quality perspective

these things are fantastic really good

base they come with an impedance adapter

to boost base if you want more and again

it just plugs into anything with a

headphone jack so there really isn't

much in the $50 range that I would

consider if you spend a little bit more

and you go to 80 this has some of some

of the similar issues to the red as when

it comes to bore size this is the truer

hexas um they are 80 bucks incredible

detail retrieval they are base light

compared to the Reds so if you want

strong base go with the red if you want

it to be more like footstep focused the

hex's are really tough to beat

incredibly resolving cable is decent

it's light weight it's comfortable on

the cable side but again the Bora is a

little bit large so these are going to

have similar Comfort issues or

non-issues depending on your ear but you

would go with the hexa if you want more

detail forward brighter tribal

presentation just because the bass is

softer whereas the red is a more

forgiving tune I think the reds are

better for immersive gaming and single

story whereas I would go with the hexa

more for FPS then you have one of my

favorite IMS in general for gaming

regardless of price because that whole

diminishing return thing I took I talked

about earlier this is the simgot em6 L

the Phoenix I think it's about $120

they just have an incredible sound

profile I love them for all types of

gaming the Bas is just right so I can do

immersive gaming they are insanely

competitive for FPS I hear everything

and the driver Arrangement means that

you can push a pretty wide variety of EQ

to tune it to your knees to me this

represents um the finest line of

diminishing returns out there you're not

going to become better going past these

and IMS in my opinion especially after

EQ they are incredibly comfortable they

come with a decent wire it's not a

pretty cable it's kind of almost looks

like it's been uh left out in the sun

for a while like a faded beige look but

what I'm wearing it I don't care no

microphonics issues uh comes with a few

tips and to me that's one of my favorite

IMS for gaming again that sound profile

works for all gaming types now if you

like planar magnetic IMS or you want a

planner magnetic IM I actually think I

yeah I do have them out my top pick for

uh Call of Duty and FPS gaming for a

while for um planar IM was the Basin Mt

Pros these are about 200 bucks they have

a ridiculous amount of accessories um

this is with the ant lion kamora cable

I'll talk about that after but I like

the let sewer if I mispronounce it sorry

the S12 Pro is more now because it's one

it's almost $80 less these are down to

about10

$130 they have a more natural sound

profile they're less bloated in the

upper base and the up upper mids and

treble is uh more linear so everything

sounds more natural this is good if you

also want to listen to music with it and

not just play games same thing with the

red and the em6 L but if you like the

planr magnetic openness on the top

treble planars have really good upper

treble extension or I shouldn't say good

but emphasized so if you want to have

more of an open sounding I for Sound

Stage then the S12 to me is my uh

favorite planner pick for the money the

only thing is as gorgeous as this cable

is it is a little bit of a heavy cables

so if you're sensitive to a little bit

of weight on the top of your ear you

might be switching cables anyway but

it's not for the fact that it is uh not

robust enough the other thing I want to

point out I guess I left it out is this

tip is detachable and it comes with a

3.5 uh standard connection a 4.4

pentacon balance and a 2.5 balance so if

you're using a higher-end audio player

you can uh benefit from balance cables

now we're going to talk about Harmon

tuning and this is the truth a Nova

gorgeous I am I heard these at KI GM a

little less than a year ago insanely

deep base if you play a lot of single

story games I find these incredibly

comfortable in addition to the gorgeous

looks the cable is pretty but there are

some micronics in the cable it's kind of

like a shoelace material uh some people

won't care about that and um you may end

up wanting to upgrade the cable if the

cable noise bothers you however there is

an IM immense amount of subbase

extension which for single story gaming

is great this driver Arrangement is

still very resolving and detailed so you

can still hear subtle footstep cues and

all that so they're perfectly fine for a

mixed genre however at 15 if you're

looking more on the competitive FPS side

again diminishing returns I would still

go with the em6 L from simgot it's a

little bit less money still very

comfortable and I think it's better for

FPS the novas are better for single

story or if you just want a lot of deep

bass one of my uh favorite higher end IM

IMS for gaming is these guys this is the

Kiwi ear Orchestra light different color

choices again they look huge they have a

pretty thick shell um but they are

absolutely stunning immense detail

retrieval very resolving you will hear

the most subtle details out there and

this sound profile lends itself really

well to FPS they are very seal sensitive

so if you don't get a good seal there's

almost no base so make sure you find the

right tip it comes at several in the Box

you may have to buy some better tips

online I'll talk about tips at the end

here uh but if if you are okay with

spending more money because you are just

chasing um a great technical performer

for gaming as far as knowing where

everything is really good driver

matching all of that stuff the orchestra

light is more of your next tier up from

the simgot em6 L this is just because I

like this Im so much I'll be honest with

you the The Dusk I reviewed a while back

this is from uh the latest chical collab

the moondrop DK I love the way the bass

sounds on this it's not that it's overly

strong bass but the punch and dynamic

mimic to it it just hits hard and if you

also listen to rock music or things like

that I don't think it gets much better

than this from an IM IM that I've heard

without spending significantly more

money the sound signature without using

the included uh DAC cable it comes with

two wires in the Box this has a USBC uh

plug on it which I just attached a

lightning adapter to it so I can just

attach it to my phone if you don't want

to use USBC the included cable that's

analog is a little bit janky as well

it's kind of a cheap cable for $400 IM

but that sound signature actually works

really well for gaming so it's not like

you have to use DSP for gaming you're

not going to get a um better gaming

performance as far as like

competitiveness goes compared to the

Kiwi ears Orchestra or the simgot em6 L

it doesn't feel any more competitive

where it shines more is on the music

side if you're looking for Dynamics and

punch um it's just a great performer for

music now I'm pretty much going to cut

it off with IMS at the $600 price range

this is the new IO audio valare it has

has a great cable the unboxing

experience is like nothing I've ever

seen detachable tips to plug into

balanced or non-balanced a very

comfortable shell this is basically a

Harmon curve it has more of a u-shape to

it which again if you're chasing that

deep subbase think of this as a better

version of the truth ear Nova it has

better detail better uh instrument

separation which can help with subtle

audio cues and gaming while still having

an immense amount of base and being very

comfortable is it worth $450 over the

Nova purely for gaming absolutely not

but if you're also listening to music

it's something to consider uh you you're

going to get diminishing returns that

has a unique driver Arrangement and

that's why it has such an immense layer

or separation of layering so it's just a

matter of preference those are just some

top picks to consider if I get asked

based off each price range now all those

options are great in each price range

but they typically don't come with a

microphone some have an inline mic but

that's pretty poor so I want to talk

about the ant lion kamur which turns

your IM IM into basically a gaming

headset you still benefit from all the

pros of IM IMS and now you can have a

microphone that's going to work much

better for talking to your friends

there's no volume control there's no

mute switch you're going to do all that

on the uh source side but this little

guy comes in two pin and mmcx connection

connections so depending on which IM IM

you buy make sure you select the

appropriate one it even comes with a a

little y uh Joiner if you will or

basically it comes with a mic and audio

output and then this little adapter

that's included is going to turn into

into a trrs connection so you can plug

this into a gaming controller as well so

Xbox and Playstation owners can also use

something like this it's a very nice

seamless package there is some micronics

with the cable so it might feel like a

downgrade depending on which IM you

bought but if you want to add a mic you

can do that the last couple things I

want to touch on with IMS is tip rolling

now these particular tips some people

aren't going to like it this is the SNS

tips they have um a more of a unique

shape to them they're very Square some

imss I don't get the best seal and my

skin is sensitive to Memory Foam so I

can't benefit from that I was talking

about playing with tips earlier tips

make a massive difference not only on

some sound quality characteristics but

if you don't maintain a perfect seal it

has a massive impact on your Bas and

your perceived quality of that IM am

noise isolation them falling out Etc

play around with tips they're very

inexpensive and if you're buying a $300

IM buy $20 pack of tips and see if you

find something you like the last thing I

want to talk about is Source Gear IMS

don't need much however onboard audio

with most most motherboards especially

on a desktop is pretty bad all you need

is a $10 Apple USBC dongle for an IM

then you just use the volume control on

Windows and your IMS will sound

fantastic this even supports a

microphone so if you got the ant lion

Cur this $10 deck is really all you need

if you want to spend more money because

you want uh controls or onboard EQ this

little guy is the quid X 5K it's about

$120 has parametric EQ you can customize

the crap out of it you make any sound

profile you want I don't like the

controls it's kind of hard to use but

there's no beating the sound and

customization for the money this also

has a balanced out this can be

configured to support microphones as

well so you can still have mic pass

through and you can change the audio

mode to work on PlayStation 5 so you can

benefit from Custom EQ with this little

guy just do a USB BC extension cable and

use it as a wireless or a wired deck it

does have Bluetooth so if you want to

use this on the go for your IM it's a

great solution you can just wirelessly

connect to your phone works on Apple and

Android and that covers IM Im so let's

quickly talk about entry level audio

under $100 for gaming a little bit of

music use and you know if you're

considering FPS performance and imaging

these are all good choices and I want to

start with to me the top pick for the

money under 100 this is the cost ksc75

FES and this is the X version from drop

because for like 25 bucks it has an

inline mic I just wanted that

flexibility even though I haven't used

that part yet and I liked the black

color way these are hooks they work well

if you have a VR headset because they

just go around your ear same thing with

IM IMS for VR as well but all I have to

do is hook these on I can tell you right

now for 20 to 25 bucks you're not going

to get a better sound stagey experience

as long as you don't need the noise

isolation some people this is a all

twisted but uh some people want to hear

their environment while they play some

people want to block that out noise

isolation is a very important thing to

consider these are very open but they

sound incredible for gaming so if you

don't have a lot of background noise to

worry about even if you already have a

good audio solution you like this is

something worth picking up they're just

incredible hell even the more expensive

Porta Pros are a great option as well

their stuff looks cheap it feels cheap

but they are fairly durable and frankly

um the value is out of this world for

sound verse cost if you're looking for a

sub $50 headset with a mic then it's

really hard to beat the hyperx clouds

this is the cloud X which has sold on

Amazon for $35 has mic control decent

mic um you know it has a switch to mute

the mic volume control it's still rather

comfortable there is a pad on the inside

baffle even though the pads aren't deep

the sound profile is good enough and

let's be real it's under 50 bucks for

gaming um so you can't have too high of

an expectation but I think this is about

as good as you should expect and it

performs really well it's still good for

FPS gaming um I liked the Lenovo Legion

thinks like the h200 or something that's

not bad but with this price drop um it's

hard to recommend the Lenovo this will

just last much longer then you have the

steel series Nova 1 I really like the

sound profile of this they are insanely

comfortable so for a budget headset this

varies on price it goes on sale

sometimes has a retractable microphone

there both analog so they work on PC

there's no DAC included but they work on

uh controllers as well so PlayStation

and Xbox can benefit from all of these

um this is just a great choice it's a

more modern take on a headset I like the

volume controls and again Comfort is

huge they're both going to be just as

competitive for FPS there's really no

benefit over the other maybe just design

or Comfort honorable mentions to these

this is the beamic uh MMX uh Bier dnamic

MMX 100 it's 60 bucks from a German

audio file brand and the Comfort while I

admit is not as good as these two

because it's leather and the pads are

rather shallow they're also round I

still don't mind the Comfort noise

isolation is quite good so if you have a

noisy computer then I would go with this

or hyperx microphone's okay I've seen

reviews of these not holding up as well

over time mine is new so I can't speak

to the durability but from a sound

quality perspective I really like the

way this is tuned out of the box it

sounds good for music

and great for gaming especially if feel

like a little bit of a base shelf for

immersion if you don't need a mic there

aren't really a lot of good sub1

headphones I tried the Phillips uh SHP

9500s wasn't a huge fan of those I had

some issues with mine as well but this

is the F jt1 which sells for I think

like 60 to 70 bucks the sound is

immensely fun on this the base is great

it's still really clear it's extremely

comfortable detachable cable the C the

cable that's included doesn't belong in

a cheap headphone in my opinion uh but

if you don't need a mic and you just

want something comfy this is great for

both FPS and you know casual gaming

these choices are all going to be uh

pretty comparable to each other it's

just a matter of preference now stepping

up into the mid-tier wired on ear stuff

um there's a lot of choices out there

and frankly once you start spending more

money they're going to be very

comparable in gaming performance so I

want to start with some Basics by far

the best choice most commonly

recommended Choice under 200 for gaming

if you need a microphone is the Dro PC

38x now this is an open back so there's

no sound isolation people can hear what

you're hearing if you're in a quiet room

and you play your stuff loud people

around you will hear it if you have a PC

fan that's always spinning and it makes

a lot of noise that's going to bleed

into this as well now some people want

to hear the surroundings if you're

chasing footstep sounds noise isolation

is incredibly important even though I

love open backs for their sound

characteristics they typically sound

better to me if you're competing with

fan noise all of that sound doesn't

matter in the game if you can't hear the

quiet footsteps sneaking up on you over

a 4090 fan spinning away so keep that in

mind now this has a flip to mute mic it

has a volume control on this side it's

really wellmade detachable cable clamp

force is a little bit on the tighter

side but the sound quality of this is

just fantastic and if it ever goes on

sale it's a great deal eost is no more

this is really sad for me to say cuz

even though this is not as good of a

gaming headset as the p PC 38x the H6

Pro open acoustic was just more

comfortable to me the clamp Force wasn't

as tight I liked that the microphone was

detachable otherwise it's a very similar

product similar base performance a

little bit more base on this um the

upper mid-range and treble is not as

good as the PC 38x this is better out of

the box but I could just wear the H6 Pro

open longer so with the sale price to me

this is a better value right now because

it's discontinued again no idea what the

supports going to be like but you can

get these for like 120 bucks that is an

absolute steal for how good those sound

how good the mic is uh how well they're

made if you do not well I'll touch on

the vzr in a moment but the apos uh epos

H6 Pro also comes in a Clos back version

this is a base monster but it still

sounds great the upper mid-range and

treble is tuned really well if you want

noise isolation and you want like a

German brand to have good build quality

and the mic and all that other stuff I

talked about the H6 Pro close back is a

good option extra is another runner up

because this comes with a USB Dack so it

has everything you need in the Box to

play on PC works on Xbox and uh

Playstation it's a really good close

back for first-person shooters the sound

signature is um you know a little bit

more v-shaped so it's kind of aggressive

but um overall I actually liked what

they did with this it's like they took

the hyperx cloud series and just made it

better in pretty much every single way

so the close back options are great if

you want to go on the high-end close

back you have the vzr model 1 which

spoiler alert new pads coming I'll be

talking about that soon these guys are

over $300 they are insanely comfortable

great noise isolation no volume control

on it so it makes a little bit harder

for console just make keep that in mind

for adjusting it FPS performance is

incredible the Imaging is pretty much as

good as it gets for any wired product

the only downside is the uh stock audio

tuning out of the box might not be for

everybody even with the new pad there

there's some mid-base bloat so I EQ it

no matter what but the new hybrid pad

coming out is going to be an upgrade

option and to me it makes it even more

comfortable I can wear them forever and

with EQ to me it's one of the the best

closed-back gaming experiences you can

get right now if you don't need a

microphone and you want to spend about

200 bucks or just under 200 bucks um the

common picks are the HD 560s from

Sennheiser and the other option is the

be dynamic tiger

300r this is the better product of the

two people will like the 560s more it

sounds better it's a little bit more

clear and resolving there's better

detail separation not by much but it is

a little bit better my only issue with

the 560s again personally is the clamp

force is tight and the way it puts

pressure on my head apparently is what

I'm sensitive to I have a little bit of

pressure just above the backs of my ear

right here I can't wear them as long

even though I do like the sound better

the tiger 300r is another open back and

I put it on backwards to me I can just

wear these longer they still have a

really fun sound profile the upper

treble is nice and ay so they stage well

and there's a nice little base shelf so

they're a really fun headphone to listen

to personally these are better for FPS

as far as the sound signature goes out

of the box but the hd6xx if you live in

the US is $200 that is a superior

headphone for music compared to both of

these it has in just the best mid-range

you'll ever hear under 200 bucks they're

more comfortable they have better detail

uh retrieval if you're listening to uh

music on it the only downside is the

sound signature is a little bit flat and

dull for some so they won't sound as

like Punchy and open as a 560s they

sound dull in comparison for gaming but

they are better for music now when you

get into high-end audio this it it just

gets ridiculous almost everything is

going to work well for gaming again

we're talk about the game audio engine

and I'm not going to get into too much

detail with all these I'm going to

highlight some things here the

Sennheiser 490 Pro is almost $500 it

uses almost the same driver setup as the

$200 560s so do not expect miracles when

it comes to a sound quality improvement

it's a huge Improvement in Comfort I

would buy the 490 Pro just because if I

liked the 560s sound but I just wanted

to wear it all the time this is just

such a much better headphone for me is

it worth the double the price over that

no not in my opinion but it is an

excellent option to consider especially

if you also listen to music and frankly

you just wear them for a long period of

time now the issue is once you start

spending almost $500 there are other

headphones that will just do a very

different sound presentation you have

the be dynamic 1990 Pros the dt1990 pros

this aside from the 8K treble Peak is

built like a tank it has really honestly

a really good sound signature it doesn't

sound as resolving or clear as some

other headphones in this price range

everything sounds more stunted and

smooth over minus the travel Peak but if

you want a premium feeling headphone

that's going to outlast you aside from

just occasional pad swaps this is a

really good long-term pick um I can say

with pretty high confidence that's going

to last a long time and not give you any

issues at that $500 price range frankly

you're going to have a ton of choices

you have the highi men Edition XS which

is going to be the most detailed

headphone here under 500 if you're

looking for Ultimate Sound uh resolution

and a little bit of brightness the

high-fi Min Edition XS is there now it

fits large on my head it's not the best

for smaller heads the only reason why I

brought out the Ananda because this is

basically $100 more the new Ananda Nano

and it has the Sandara style headband so

to me it's more comfortable um I would

prefer the Ananda over this from a

retail point but with this having a

price drop you're not getting a

significant enough sound quality

increase for gaming this is a better

value for music I do like the inanda

more now the Odyssey mm100 I just want

to do an honorable mention at $400 it

has a pretty safe tune it doesn't sound

fantastic for any particular thing but

it does handle EQ well the detachable 3

.5 means you can buy some microphone

solution online which the high Minh havs

too have as well but it's built well

it's kind of like an odyssey Maxwell but

an openback version for more money and

the sound signature may not be as good

as the Maxwell that's because this is

purely analog but if you like the idea

of an open back and um already have a

Maxwell then the M100 mm100 is a loog

logical choice now if you need sound

isolation and you want to spend higher

money Ace zone is usually the higher

pick I would recommend they have the

best noise cancellation on the market um

this is the Aspire which is over $300

but it has an analog connection and a

USB Dack which works on PlayStation the

USB cable is better suited on PC in my

opinion it's foldable it's good for

travel does not feel like a very

expensive headphone in my opinion I

think it could have felt a little bit

better it's kind of creaky but the sound

quality of this is excellent it uses

onboard Electronics or DSP to improve

the sound and it's focused more for

games like Apex Legends and CS go so if

you're a competitive player and noise is

an issue the Aspire is a great choice

the arise is $800 and it's like wearing

protective headwear to go to a shooting

range this clamp force is absolutely

insane I almost can't hear myself talk

and the active noise cancellation is not

even on yet if you are playing in an

actual tournament Esports event where

people are talking and really loud then

the arise is going to be the only one

that really gets rid of all of that even

the microphone Tech will get rid of all

that noise as well going the opposite

direction is the Odyssey LCD GX an $800

audio file headphone that's similar um

driver characteristics to the LCD uh X

which is 1,200 so this is less money it

doesn't have the same base texture as

the more expensive lcdx and it's

definitely brighter on the treble if you

want um just a really expensive open

back uh headset that comes the mic

everything kind of built in the GX has

kind of in its own price category I I do

like this headphone the pads are an

improvement as well I can wear this for

a long period of time is it going to

make you a massively better player no

but if you want something that with EQ

can be great for music um open back the

planer characteristics of speed and and

base texture and all that it's a good

headphone um is it $800 versus 200 going

to make you better absolutely not but I

I still think it's a viable pick

especially if you're chasing that like

openness in Upper Sound Stage now when

you go topof the Line open back you have

the Sennheiser hd800s sound stage is

ridiculous on this the bass isn't like

crazy Punchy frankly I needed to EQ this

to enjoy it um it's kind of like don't

meet your hero type thing for me I hyped

the crap out of this in my head and I

was a little let down by how far spread

everything was it was almost too much

and I think in some cases I actually

like the HD 560s more for certain games

so this is an excellent headphone it's

built well but I wouldn't get the 800s

solely with the purpose of having like

that legendary gaming Sound Stage that's

not everything the ham and Arya um

organic is the planner magnetic

equivalent of the 800s I'd say the Arya

stealth is um closer to the performance

of um the 800s but the organic to me is

a little bit better tuned for everything

else it has a more filled in Upper

mid-range and treble so it sounds more

cohesive um I really like this one to be

honest it takes EQ really well and if

anything even though it may not be built

as well as the 800s I almost like the

flexibility I get with the Arya organic

mois so prices get crazy at this point

they're all going to be great for gaming

even the uh mes lyric if you only need a

close back for

$2,000 the mes lyric 2 or the um Dan

Clark E3 is a good option but it's

obviously going to be great so just a

matter what you want to spend now when

you get into reasonably affordable

wireless headsets that frankly don't

suck um there's some great options to

consider and they're usually in the1 to

$200 range as far as bang for your buck

goes so I want to start with some Basics

I was going to leave this one out but

it's just because the value is so good

this is the um the Razer um hypers speed

it's the black shark hypers speed which

is like 120 bucks and it's crazy

comfortable the microphone's almost as

good as the $200 black shark B2 Pro the

2020 3 edition it's just such an amazing

headset for the money and it has

Bluetooth it has onboard EQ and with the

firmware updates they greatly improved

it so from a comfort standpoint this is

a great choice it's a base heavy

headphone or headset so if you want more

of like the Esports footsteps

performance it's not going to be the

best choice here now where it gets

confusing the black shark V2 Pro is a

better headset overall but to me it's

not $80 better than the hypers speed now

that they they fix the firmware this is

still a great option I can wear it

forever and when I put the wicked

cushion freeze pad it got rid of the

scratchiness you can hear the difference

I think the pad upgrade makes it an even

better option which puts you at like the

$230 range the issue is it's outgun from

a feature standpoint from a lot of other

options but if you're chasing comfort

with a great mic this is a better single

story or single player story headset

hyperx Cloud 3 another honorable mention

immense battery life 120 hours no

Bluetooth no onboard EQ really basic

headset but it's tuned well so if you do

a mix of single story um FPS gaming and

you want to watch movies and listen to

music the cloud 3 is to me one of the

best sub $200 headsets to buy I think

they knocked it out of the park from a

tuning perspective and even the Comfort

was improved the pads are a little bit

deeper than the old clouds so it's a

good choice for just general purpose if

you're not chasing a bunch of features

now we get get to me the best two

options under 200 overall and that is

the Pulse Elite from the PlayStation

division $150 really bright treble not a

lot of Basse if you're a bass Chaser any

of these others will be a better headset

here but at 150 if you're only chasing

like ultimate detail retrieval for

footsteps and positional accuracy I was

blown away at how much I could hear with

these they have a very unique use case

comfort and style not really one of them

but from a competitive standpoint

there's no denying that at 150 that's a

pretty miraculous headset now my Top

Choice under 200 for wireless is still

the Nova 7 x in particular especially if

you have an Xbox it works wirelessly on

Xbox it has a stupid amount of features

simultaneous Bluetooth this works

wirelessly on Playstation Xbox PC and

mobile and Nintendo switch with an

analog fallback uh so you can use a 3.5

connection to use it as a passive

headphone detachable micro or

retractable microphone again I put wiked

cushion freeze pads just to open it up a

little bit cuz the stock pads are a

little small for me but with all the

features onboard EQ customization the

headband design telescoping yolks it

just does everything if you just say yes

to every single box I guess aside from

active noise cancellation this is one of

the only sub $200 options that does it

all and still has a good enough sound

signature to work for basically

everything and that's not even factoring

EQ so for me this is the top pick if you

just want it all now when you get into

high-end Wireless yeah you're going to

have a good headset it's going to be

great for gaming and a lot of these just

have different features and reasons to

consider it for that more so than just

one being a better performer for gaming

so I going to start with the Nova Pro

just cuz we left off with the Nova 7x

this is basically a better version of

the Nova 7x it's not to me worth twice

the price purely on sound quality

performance but it is a better headphone

or headset it has active noise

cancellation it has hot swappable

battery with with a little dock on the

side so you can uh easily switch out

your batteries and keep going forever it

has game to chat mix for both PC and

Xbox simultaneous Bluetooth even has the

uh 3.5 mm connection for line in and out

on the back and it can connect to two

consoles or two devices at once so it's

a very versatile headset sound profile

isn't as competitive I guess really

compared to any of these it's just going

to be a different flavor but you can EQ

it and it's more than enough for gaming

so I think from a feature standpoint

again it's a great choice now I'm going

to go the opposite direction the master

and dynamic mg20 this thing is slept on

um at retail price it's expensive $400

plus dollars but it does go on sale

sometimes uses real leather pads

brillium drivers kind of like what's

found on the $1,000 plus fcal headphones

the sound quality of this is incredible

it is the best sounding wireless headset

I've ever reviewed that is not the

Maxwell so this was kind of skipped over

I think because the feature set was so

basic if you just want something really

comfortable that works well for music

and gaming this is a great pick still

and especially if you can get it on sale

it works with analog on Xbox if you use

the included cable otherwise it works

wirelessly on PC uh and your computer

latency is okay the adapter is just a

little bit higher latency than most the

other options but I was still

competitive on it especially because it

was so comfy and and sounded as good as

it did the Maxwell is still the raining

Champ here for overall sound quality and

a wireless headset uses plar magnetic

drivers and it's tuned to Perfection um

it takes EQ extremely well the feature

set is great as well 8 Hour battery game

to chat mix on PC and Xbox and on the PC

side it's presented as two devices so

it's very easy to control lots of new

pads coming out for it I have a whole

pad video coming out on the Maxwell um

and within the next week and I'm going

to talk about how that improves uh or

changes sound quality and comfort but if

you're just chasing the best possible

sound quality and you want Wireless and

a still a decent amount of features the

Maxwell still the top pick Turtle Beach

sty Pro active noise cancellation

simultaneous Bluetooth uh swappable

batteries as well with a little dock

transmitter works on Playstation Xbox

and PC it is pretty comfortable it's not

as comfortable as some of the others

here the microphone's okay not the best

mic the software is okay but it does

have onboard EQ which is great for

console the big kicker with this is It's

just so good for FPS gaming if you want

like a a more Bas Punchy version of the

Pulse Elite um just better sound quality

overall but you still want really good

footstep tracking this was the best one

I've used in this price range for that

now I'm not a fan of the controls I

don't like that to do game to chat mix

you have to press and hold the action

button to use the same wheel that's used

for volume that is the biggest kicker

for me is when when you're spending this

much I like fast and easyy to use Game

to chat mix that's the only thing really

holding back the Stealth Pro for me um

clamp force is a little bit stronger

than some of the others so if you're

sensitive to pressure that's something

to consider as well then lastly the

Astro a5x a truly unique uh headset

because it's almost $400 it's the only

one that has an HDMI switch box on it

and the benefit of this the reason why I

wanted to bring this up is because it

gives you game to chat mix on

Playstation thanks to the HDMI

connection it's a bit more temperamental

to set up you have to make some changes

to your HDMI it does affect or impact

how your TV or receiver and Soundbar

handle U HDMI audio but the microphone

is Best in Class the controls are best

in class you have a volume wheel and

then tapping forward and back for game

to chat mix on all three platforms it

connects to all three platforms

simultaneously it has simultaneous

Bluetooth but your phone pairs to the

dock so you can't just go walk around

the house with this with your phone

phone's going to the dock and then the

docks back to the headset it's not

perfect the firmware is kind of weird

the Logitech ghub software we all know

is not the best but it's at least

working okay with the 50x I would get

this if you just want um something comy

enough to use all day for work because

of that microphone is so so good for

conference calls and chat and then the

controls are great if you just have a

lot of platforms and you want one box

for everything the a5x is unique sound

profiles kind of Base forward and dark

on the treble uses graph raing drivers

so it handles EQ well but um not as

detail forward as any of the others here

it definitely sounds darker and more

laidback we can EQ it but that's how it

is out of the box now I talked about a

lot of analog headsets which if you're

just plugging into a computer frankly

you're holding a lot of it back now you

can just get an Apple dongle like I said

for 10 bucks and that'll still be a big

Improvement if you want more features

well this is a quick Roundup of

suggestions the G6 from creative um it's

still an awesome deck it's old now it

uses micro

USB um the controls are you know it's

okay nothing is excellent you can press

it in for game to chat um but my thing

with this is it has a low output

impedance and onboard EQ so it's a fun

little unit if you want a volume knob

because this is one of the cheaper

Solutions out there that give you an

easy to ous volume with separate mic and

uh headphone out connections so and with

the low impedance it works really well

with IMS admittedly I use this more

literally just for the controls this is

the

gc7 um also over $100 but you have a

master volume wheel and a game to chat

volume this works with anything with a

headphone jack you have um a combo Port

so this guy is trrs so if you have a

single connection you can use that or if

you have something that splits it you

can do that as well you have assignable

presets you can adjust Bas and treble on

the fly in addition to a 10 band EQ has

Optical in andout a gain switch a line

out to connect to the passive or uh

powered speakers and then a mobile

switch to work on uh Playstation or

sorry console for Playstation Mobile to

turn it into an adapter for uh like an

Android device I just like it for the

controls it doesn't sound as good the

output impedence is closer to 10 ohms

and what that means is if you have an IM

like that truth year red from kren um

that will have more Bas when connected

to this it won't sound as good to me

it'll sound a little bit muddier so you

can always EQ some of that down this is

the better sounding of the two but I

don't really care because when it comes

to gaming I talked about controls I want

to be able to fade to game when I'm in

goog uh for Call of Duty for example and

fade the voice if the game is noisy and

I want to hear my friends with the

onboard EQ it's a lot of fun if you

don't need a mic the FOH uh k11 this is

a great unit for about 120 again it's

incredibly clean it's a digital gain uh

volume wheel or digital volume

adjustment so there's no panel in

balance issues this is excellent for IMS

and headphones it doesn't have any

microphone support but it does have a

4.4 balance connection and on the back

you have your analog out to connect to a

more powerful amp if you want um it's

just a really clean great performing

deck for 120 bucks it Powers everything

if you need microphone support this is

the hell2 plus a new version I

actually have the regular hell2 here I

have the plus as well but the plus adds

a negative gain switch which again is

better for I M big old volume wheel

microphone adjustment they have

something called the fulla which is 100

but at that price I would just rather

get the hell it's a better unit so this

works on Playstation as well if you just

want a lot of power and you want

microphone support this is something to

use uh more for like the LCD GX from

Odyssey or the vzr model 1 it's just it

makes those sound better and you still

get the microphone functionality

honorable mention to the uh creative X5

it to me it's it's a really weird

product it does have microphone support

but there's no game to chat mix which

kind of sucks so it's kind of like

basically a less powerful version of the

hell2 for more money but it does give

you the ability to mix in Bluetooth and

Optical so you can combine sources and

it has the ability to do onboard eqs so

if you want some more adjustments on the

unit itself that's when you would go

with the X5 so that wraps up this very

long video if you made it to the end
