all right boys today's a big day in the
last video you guys heard our freshly
done up 2J start for the first time we
got a little excited sent it off the
limiter a
lot we have
neighbors it was a good time so we spent
the last day or so doing everything we
can the button this thing up enough to
get on the dyno spoon made up the
intercooler piping it came out beautiful
and it really ties it all together like
see inter cool ping in here now like it
looks
so mean and juicy and good and all the
adjectives that describe this thing it
seems D already as you guys know we
haven't used my Dyno in a very very long
time we had some issues with it and we
got very busy uh it kind of got buried
and we just kept using Derrick's right
we love visiting Derrick is a good time
and well I decided to get it back up and
running cuz we need this thing in house
it's too good of a tool not too good to
lie so I spent the last day or so trying
to get this thing working I had the guys
remoting in we checked over everything
we found a couple discrepancies in the
firmware that we corrected and so now
this thing should be way more consistent
way more accurate but we did find one
problem that we're not going to be able
to fix today and that is my load cell
actuator in here is my giant Edie
current which is kind of like an
electronic brake right this applies load
to the dyo and unfortunately the new
controller won't come until Monday but
we could actually still use it as a raw
nursa dyo which is fine the numbers
might be a little bit higher as we get
into the higher horsepower but I just
want to tune this thing on pump gas
today and I think it'll be perfectly
accurate for that we ran the coupe on it
a bunch of times this morning morning
and the numbers align super consistent
to Kenny's Dino jet so it's very very
similar to the numbers that we got in
Kenny's Dino jet which is great so we
have comparable numbers and at the end
of the day the numbers on this thing
don't really matter I just want to make
sure that this thing is good to rip on
and we need a solid Baseline on pump gas
before we could actually start making
some Jam jam on ethanol make sense I
just want to rip on the thing and have
some fun before we throw this in the din
there a couple things we want to do the
first thing is we want to get the bumper
on cuz I'm kind of dying to see how it
fits with all the intercool and
everything on it so see if I mess
anything up now we're going to go will
the fog light still
fit we'll find
out

works like you can't beat that and the

the Bas line of what we got going on
here if you guys are new to the build
right so we're going to tune on pump gas
today I'm going to probably keep it
around wastegate which going be 14 PSI
we'll bring up to like 18 PSI there's no
reason to push our luck on pump gas it
is a stock bottom end so we'll push our
luck once we're on ethanol so a 2JZ non
vvti stock supr long block 264 272 Kord
cans with upgraded Val Springs we have
the rtech compact manifold with the new
turbo smart 6466 dual ball burn turbo
Turbo smart gate uh we have a stock
intake we have uh DW Works fuel system
and um a link ECU Electronics of course
so that's our magic combo here what is
going to be our limiting factor we're
going to find out I don't think we're
going to find any limit on pump I think
it's when we put on E we're going to
find a limit if it's going to be the
fuel system cuz we're a little small on
injector size it's going to be the
intercooler cuz we're a little small on
intercooler we're going to find out
that's the fun of this isn't it so let's
get after it base mat's pretty clean uh
I'm going to do a couple things before
we start making pulls honestly our first
pull on gate our first clean pull should
be within like honestly 20 to 30 hor
power of our Peak number on gate I Know
Jay-Z is very well so I'm not concerned
about it the only thing is since we
don't have the load Source on the dyno
the run times might be a little short
we'll use the load source to kind of
load the car up so the run times are
longer so we have a little bit better
data but for now we're more than good
are we making bets today what's it going
to make on gate I don't know I have no
idea what Jay-Z's 450 450 450 you're
you're usually honestly pretty good at
this I'm usually pretty good at this the
stock 2J normally make on
14 dude I don't know cuz this thing does
have a head package which is going to do
a lot that's true I don't know what to
expect right cuz you'll get like we've
been using a lot of the newer Garretts
and what we see is like they don't do
too much until they get in their
efficiency rent and then they they hit I
don't know I see 480 in my head for some
reason 480 on on pump I'm sticking with
450 but 480 feels good right I don't
know for some reason 480 comes to mind

had the Boost cut set pretty
conservatively uh we dude it like as
soon as it got momentum behind it like
at 300 RPM the turbo kicked like it was
on a light switch straight to 17
PSI all right just to roll out the
plumbing or anything we bypassed the
entire Bo controller and went right to
the manifold for
reference so it's something with the
Boost controller Plumbing but let's see
we just
made let's check it how much psi did we
make 13 PSI we made 13 PSI and at 13 PSI
we made
416 4113 so 416 power 413 torque not bad
13 PSI yeah that's what these make stock
yeah that's pretty dude that's good
that's what we want to see that's
exactly what we want to see all right so
we're going to play around with the
Boost uh controller wiring a little bit
so we can get some more boost into it
cuz 13 PSI definitely not enough I want
to see at 18 I knew it was going to
happen but I want to see at 18 18 is a
number for stock bottom and pump gas so
let me clean this out first and then
we'll get crazy with the Boost
cool this should get us like another 10
horsepower or
so yeah she cleaning up good 436 on that
one getting close to Steve's number I
see that's kind of where that wants to
be a 13 PS ion pump good curve I'm not
mad about it the exhaust is so quiet
sounds so anti-climatic compared to the
coupe like we had the coupe on here and
it was so loud and it was barking but
has has woken up yet dude 13 PSI come on

that was a lot of torque yeah that was
17 it spiked 17 PSI and then it look at
the power curve it shoots up and it
comes straight down and that's because
the Boost curve mimics that right so it
looks like we spiked 17 PSI and then it
fell off back down down to 14 PSI how
much torque do we produce 540
torque well it shouldn't have spiked
that aggressively than falling off like
that let's see if we can get that under
control real quick before we try to go
anywhere else without the load on it the
the torque is going get a little
exaggerated but that's that's crazy
expecting good things

here that's what we want that's what we
want that's exactly what we
want yeah we're able to tame it by
commanding the boost control a little
bit differently it's a stock bottom end
right so our goal is to keep torque out
of it we don't want the torque to hit
too hard too quickly our goal is to
produce good power without producing too
much torque in with this setup
especially on the pump gas right that
time once again mimics the Boost curve
pretty good right so we had the Boost
come in soft and we ramped it out at the
higher RPM and that's what we see right
there we see the torque come in and then
gradually gain so if we look at our
boost boost curve well see this is our
boost curve right here you see how it
looks just like the torque curve
so we just have it slowly ramp up to 18
PSI by you know 6,800 RPM which is very
mimick to our to our torque curve like
it looks basically spot on so I think we
can get away we could definitely get
away with having torque come in a little
bit harder so let's work on getting that
torque a little bit more flat and uh I
think we're good to
go
better definitely
better good you look now our red is our
next B we had the Boost come in a little
bit more aggressively so it brings our
torque curve up a little bit lower makes
it a little bit more flat so this will
feel better and it's still very tamed so
we at the
difference so and then blue so that was
our previous one one so now look how
happy that curve looks that's so good
look at the power
Just 18 PSI just under 500 horsepower on
pump gas that's amazing a good looking
curve is a good feeling Power Band if
that makes a good looking curve is a
good feeling

run with it put that on a t-shirt

it's super conservative but it's loving
it it's producing plenty of power gives
us a f gives us an amazing Foundation to
start off of and then we can really
start leaning on it once we put the
ethanol in it that's why I have a flex
fual sensor so we can run both right we
can go between the two fuels even at
this power number this thing is going to
feel in insane and there's still so much
more to unlock but before we pull this
thing off the dyno there's always one
more thing that we have to do boys and
what is that steeve

this is the perfect car for it's a call

still got to get this thing on ethanol

now on pump we have it hitting 500 right
um I called I said 480
I mean we turn the boost up until we
made that right but you guys were close

technically on gate I was pretty close
