than in years past and it's been hard to

keep up the 2024 NHL season has been

complete chaos all the way through so

let's cover what week 16 had to offer

now if you wanted to see some chaos

unfold all you had to do was tune in the

first 5 minutes of this Yol and Panthers

game we had two fights back to back to

kick us off and it's because of all the

bad blood regarding the Nick cousins

incident if you don't remember a few

weeks back Nick cousins took a run at a

defenseless player on the ice and then

got absolutely stapled by Jason Zucker

who received a three-game suspension

cousins who's getting a reputation of

being a rat is still a pretty damn good

player for the Panthers and is still out

with a concussion so the Panthers were

just chomping at the bit here to get

retribution there's no other sport where

the players can organize a fight and

everyone gets out their anger and then

to go sit in the Box for 5 minutes to

reflect it's the greatest sport on Earth

and kachuck is still damn good at it by

scoring two goals to help guide the

Panthers to a 6-2 win I know the brues

are still at the top of the East right

now and there's some other solid teams

but I still don't think any of them are

as scary as the Panthers if they

continue this level of play they can

skate for check defend and most

importantly they can get Elite level

goal tending timing is everything in the

NHL playoffs so maybe it's a different

story coming April but for me they are

the team to beat in the east as of right

now week also started off with a bang

after Chris Laten and nghi Malon combin

on this sweet goal in their own net a

3-2 game the coyotes have a delayed

penalty so the Penguins pull their

goalie for the extra attacker L Tang

tries to drop it back to malcin he

mishandles it and well it goes in their

own net just a miserable and devastating

play that hilariously sums up the season

for the penguin so far look at Crosby

just he he can't even believe it at this

point he scored in this one too of

course but the Penguins wouldn't recover

from that and they would lose the game

52 Sid is having one of the best seasons

of his career and one of the best

seasons of any 36-year-old in NHL

history and the penguins are absolutely

wasting it they were able to pick up an

OT win against the Habs heading into the

break but of course it wouldn't have

been possible if Sid didn't make this

absurd pass to set up the game tying

goal however if they continue this

inconsist consistency down the stretch I

don't see them making the playoffs I

haven't also seen someone score in their

own empty net like that since Patrick

Kane did it a few years ago off a

delayed penalty as well must be

something only elite players can do in

this league so makes sense now the fun

continued that night as the golden

knights lost 65 to the New Jersey Devils

which of course prompted head coach

Bruce Cassidy to call out his team and

their beer league effort buddy should

just watch me back check for a game and

see what a real beer league effort looks

like but it's no no secret that the

golden knights haven't been playing to

their standard I mean they're going to

be just fine it's definitely a

mid-season lull for them but anytime a

coach calls out his team like that in

the media the response after is worth

noting now chaos ensued after this

brutal hit by Bryan Gallagher here on

Adam pelic that is a throwback tribute

hit to Matt Cook sticks out his elbow

aims for the head just ticks off all the

boxes you can for a dirty hit Gallagher

only picked up a five game suspension

which of course stirred up some

controversy but sha Monahan also had a

legacy game in this one notching an

assist and two goals with one being the

gamewinner to seal the 4-3 victory over

the Islanders as they get to spoil

16 also saw the return of the worm and

Cory Perry he officially signed with the

Edmonton Oilers in the beginning of the

week and that could be a really nice

addition to a team that is already

buzzing on a massive win streak what the

Oilers are doing right now is is

absolutely astonishing all the areas in

their game have completely skyrocketed

in terms of the league ranks they are

stifling teams defensively they're

getting strong goal tending and the

depth scoring has been incredible all

those things were non-existent 2 months

ago they can make NHL history if they

surpass 17 wins in a row set by the 9293

Penguins with Lemieux and yoger they are

right there at 16 and it would just put

an exclamation mark on a Chaotic season

for the Oilers so far they're going

going need to keep piling up the wins

though if they want to catch the

Vancouver Canucks we did a video on them

this week and why they are an offensive

Juggernaut so check out that video after

this but I'm very interested to see how

this team handles a speed wobble because

the Canucks have been so damn consistent

this year they haven't had a stretch of

bad games or a big losing streak and I'd

like to see how they handle some

adversity Coach Rick toet had some

criticism for Superstar leas Pon which

the media seemingly ran with and they're

also currently riding a ridiculously

high high shooting percentage which will

likely regress so I'm interested to see

how they will perform down the stretch

when the puck stops going in as

frequently as they've been used to now

the last time I checked the leaf Cup

Parade was off with them struggling on

the west coast trip but elas samsonov

wasn't too happy about that after losing

his game and struggling big time early

this season he was sent down to reset

and clear his head ever since he's

returned he's been fantastic for the

lease he had a strong game in Seattle to

G them the win and then had an

unbelievable performance against

Winnipeg on Wednesday in a one- nothing

shut out Victory the Leafs head into

their All-Star break on a three-game win

streak after beating a solid Jets team

back to back Austin Matthews became the

first player to 40 goals this season

after he hammered this one home to make

it 3-1 both teams made it known how they

felt about each other at the end of this

game Leaf seal the game with an empty

Netter and judging by how this fan

celebrates the empty net goal I think I

think it's time to officially reinstate

the leaf Stanley Cup Parade on the other

hand the parade is certainly canceled

for the LA Kings as they continue to be

in an absolute freef fall in the first

this team was going to be right in the

mix to be a cup Contender they defended

well they had depth down the middle but

it's becoming glaringly obvious that

something has gone rotten after being 27

and five in their past 14 games Drew

dowy went off after the Kings blew a 3-1

lead he talked about how some of the

guys in the room are too worried about

themselves and their point totals of

course everyone looked towards this man

imp P Luke deis now it's all speculation

but every team this guy has been on has

had some sort of issue with this level

of compete there was this classic shift

in Columbus that essentially got him

traded the next day then he went out to

Winnipeg and decided he didn't want to

stay there so they shipped him out and

now Winnipeg is a wagon and La is now

struggling he signed a massive 8-year

deal with the Kings before the season

and it just hasn't gone very well how

about the Nate Dog another hattick in

this game for him against the Caps the

guy is so automatic and electric right

now that women are literally tossing

their bra and panties on the ice for him

he's playing like a manp possessed right

now and him and COV are in an all-time

MVP battle I likely do a breakdown on

these two and how both of them

drastically have different play styles

that dominate in their own unique way so
