what's up people all right I just got

back from a two and a half week vacation

across the country to hit a whole bunch

of great sites we started in Chicago we

went to Mount Rushmore we went to

Yellowstone Zion National Park the Grand

Canyon and Colorado we put up 6 500 plus

miles on the Wagoneer

we're going to trade it in

when I tell you why

everything won't be explained okay

um

but there's going to be a lot of

positive

there's not much negative to really talk

about believe it or not so let's get

started let me walk you around the

vehicle and talk a little bit about

taking this thing on a two and a half

week Journey that almost took us 7 000

miles so

number one

let's just open it up I mean it's all I

was supposed to get it detail today

our buddy June who does our detailing is

in the hospital

so I emptied everything out I'm gonna

have to detail myself today

let me show you the front end

and how bad the bugs are now this is

only an actual fraction of how bad it

was I actually stopped Somewhere in

Arizona or at a gas station to actually

power wash it a little bit and um it was

this is only probably an eighth of how

bad

this was I don't even know what that is

all across the front is just

bugs everywhere so I've got a couple

products that I stopped to uh

detail the vehicle that will we be doing

a a comparison you know a little review

here this bug and tar remover

but

man

completely empty after

our

trip all right so first things first how

was loading this vehicle up did we have

enough room for four and a half people

we had four adults and a baby

and we were able to put two large

suitcases well let me just show you this

is what it looked like I did this when I

was in Arizona

we've had

two large suitcases two small carry-on

suitcases a gun safe

uh the baby's stroller

car seat and toddler seat

which converts into a bassinet we had uh

four backpacks

uh four blankets

and four large pillows

um extra shoes extra clothes a box full

of just baby food a giant box of diapers

a case of water

and also I had my compressor my Moab

dual compressor that I took with me I

took a impact wrench everything to if

God forbid we broke down that I had to

you know

you know fix a tire or anything the car

was loaded to the teeth as you can see

we've dropped everything and took

everything out now

but in that video you just saw

everything was loaded up

so I'm going to drop the seats down

normally

if you only have you're only using the

two rows if we didn't have the baby we

probably would have just had everything

down a lot of freaking space because

you've got you know the panoramic

Skylight and you also have the the full

sun

visor here for the the person in the

third row

but because we had the car seat and

everything let's just put this back up

this is the amount of space that I was

able to use

let me show you so actually let me

configure it to the way we had it on the

trip so you can see exactly how the

vehicle is configured

so this is how we had

the car was set up just like this I had

this side down because I had to put two

pieces of luggage here as you saw and

my one child sat back here with the car

seat up front

underneath here

I had

the impact wrench everything that I

needed to fix a tire

along with the the things that came with

the vehicle and we also put some water

in here we we use this space

to every last inch so as far as room

goes this vehicle gets an A plus a 10

out of 10. for able to put everything

that we needed for this road trip

uh I really don't have any complaints as

far as how much space we were able to

optimize with the wagon air I actually

recommend something of this size

if you're doing something like this we

saw about 50 to 100 wagoneers and Grand

wagoneers on our road trip through

Yellowstone and Zion in that

part of the world this thing was

everywhere we don't see a lot of them

here on the East Coast where I haven't

seen a lot of them driving around

but in Yellowstone it was every other

car there was so many people that had

these we also took this vehicle all

right I'm going to skip ahead here so

for space and for comfort for four and a

half people ten for ten okay

let's talk about gas mileage because

this thing only takes premium gas so let

me take you over up front

and we'll show you let's start it up I'm

going to show you what the average was

so here we go now I'm going to talk

about this average here in a second

because I think averages and numbers get

a little skewed

so it's still over 19. we just got back

yesterday so it's still over 19. it had

peaked around 20 and it would drop into

the 17s so for as far as driving goes uh

you're gonna be in this range on the

highway 20 you could expect around 20.

but

don't be shocked if when you start to

get into traffic or you start to uh you

know go on your sightseeing it's going

to be over 17. like 17 and a half was

pretty pretty much what our average was

SO gas mileage wasn't bad and all

throughout the country there was

different gas prices I mean we saw some

cheap gas prices in some spots and we

saw some like expensive gas prices in

other spots so it's Hit or Miss it's not

going to be Universal across the board

unfortunately

um

so for gas how much did I spend in gas

well

check out this number side to the side

of you this is what I every time I

stopped for gas I wrote down the amount

now you're going to look at that list

and think you stopped and put only 30

dollars in and you spent every single

time

yes I had to top off it's a military

thing those of you that uh served or

even those of you that didn't serve that

have been taught this top off every

second every chance you have now why did

I do that

well in some areas of the country the

next gas station could be a hundred

miles away and I'm not kidding hey just

in Yellowstone alone doing the loop

which took five hours on this one Loop

Drive I don't know if it was 200 miles

but it was one gas station we saw at the

one spot and you got to remember if

you're driving a vehicle that only takes

premium those you guys out there that

are tuned you may come across a gas

station like I did where they didn't

even have 91. uh the once gas station

all throughout this trip

89 octane and I'll I didn't want to put

it in now I could have mixed 89 with the

92 that was in there and been fine

but I said screw it I have enough gas to

get to the next gas station always top

off you can be

going only 50 miles to your next stop

and think well I got plenty of gas to

get there but then there's an accident

in front of you and it's 100 degrees out

and you have your kids with you or you

just have yourself with you and you're

stuck in traffic for hours do you want

to take a chance of running out of gas

you want to have plenty of gas to idle

we actually ran into a spot in uh I

think the beginning of Colorado

it was a construction zone ridiculous

amount of couple like I think it was six

miles of construction with a flagger six

miles with a flagger through the

mountain and we sat for an hour until it

was our turn to go through so that's my

reasoning for if you're wondering why I

have all these uh gas prices here and

this is the total that

that's the total amount from

Philadelphia to Chicago

uh we didn't really drive around in

Chicago then we went to Mount Rushmore

not a lot of driving in route Mount

Rushmore we did Custer's National Park

that place sucked you don't need to do

it we drove the needles check this out

this was a gonna talk about this in a

minute but we drove through the needles

check this out

and this is how narrow it was you can't

take an RV in the spot but we did tuck

our mirrors in there was a couple of

spaces throughout this trip where we had

to tuck the mirrors and speaking of uh

tucking the mirrors and space that's the

next thing let me talk about shut the

car down

and let me just talk about the size of

this vehicle because it's important that

you need to understand this in Chicago

at the Illinois Center where the parking

garage was located it was a half a block

away from our hotel

when we went to go down into the

underground the second layer the top of

the vehicle this part here let me show

you

where is it right there that antenna

hit the uh wooden sign

struck the wooden sign that tells you

that the height or whatever and we were

within millimeter of hitting this pipe

so

sit back down

when we hit the sign and I heard it I

said we can't go any further and this

lady walking by said sir you can't take

this any further because there's a pipe

your car is going to hit the pipe the

roof of the vehicle is too high now we

do have the ability to lower the vehicle

so let me turn it back on and show you

right there okay

and don't mind all the dirt and crud

like I said I haven't detailed it yet

so normally I always drive in sport it

gives you a little aerodynamics but

right here

we actually had to lower the vehicle a

little bit

just to get enough ride height to turn

around and get out of the Illinois

Center we didn't kick it out completely

but we had to get out of the second

layer of the bottom

and we ended up going back up to the

first uh level and that's when I ran

into my buddy Abe check this out this

picture of me and Abe is one of the

attendants there

he saw what we were doing he saw the

struggle he approached this and said Hey

listen if you leave your keys with me I

will put your vehicle here and then I'll

put it over into another spot later

where you won't get any door dings I

said uh no offense I've had a lot of um

bad experiences with valets those of you

that have been watching this channel for

a long time already know that and he

said I'm not a valet I work here I work

here at the parking at the Illinois

Center and I've been here almost 30

years I don't want to lose my job and

this other lady came over who works with

him and said

listen we are not with the hotel we are

not valets we'll take care of the car

and she had 34 years in wonderful woman

and I said you know what

sure

I gave him the keys

he said you come back in an hour and you

could park it and I'll save you a spot

unfortunately we were running a little

late and when I got back he had already

moved it he said I'm so sorry I moved it

for you because people were starting to

get antsy as to why I was saving a spot

with a cone and I said no problem Abe

was awesome we tipped them very very

well and if you are in Chicago and you

need a place to park and you're near the

Illinois Center check out the Illinois

Center look for Abe and I I give you my

word

this is the best place with people to

park

Abe I can't think of her name if if Abe

is ever watching this and I can't think

of her name I apologize two of the

nicest people there and Chicago was

awesome let me just touch on Chicago I

grew up here in Philadelphia thinking

Chicago was uh nothing but like the

murder capital world I'm going to be

completely honest with you I didn't have

high regards for Chicago I wanted to

visit Chicago because of the bean

and because of the Blues Brothers plain

and simple okay I've always had a

fascination with Chicago ever since

watching The Blues Brothers

Chicago's beautiful it's a lot nicer

than Philly

it reminded me of Montreal it's amazing

it's clean it's the people are nice it's

just everything about it stay in the

city go visit there just you're going to

be blown away if you've never been there

and you have this ignorant worldview

that I had so I'm glad that that world

view is now gone because I plan on going

back to Chicago it was just a wonderful

time there and that's all I'll say about

that okay moving on

it's 95 degrees out here people I need

to crack a Red Bull because that's the

smart thing to do when you're dehydrated

next

so space wise and driving through the

needles and parking and having some

issues with size it's a trade-off you've

got the size for your Comfort which is a

10 out of 10 driving just so easy I had

it on adaptive cruise control the whole

way literally I did not have to put my

foot on the gas or break for hundreds of

miles 10 out of 10.

the space is a 10 out of 10.

um I really can't

I mean I wish that the vehicle had the

ability to have like a parking garage

mode that was like like a low rider that

would be awesome but other than that I

can't complain about that part

you're still wondering why are we

trading this thing in so next

and this is my own fault I want you guys

not to make the same mistake I want to

show you the front end

covered

with bugs it's just that's not even a

fraction of how bad it was because every

chance I had I'd run the little

brush over it in a little scraper to get

most of them off at every gas station we

stopped at because it was brutal I don't

even know what kind of prehistoric bug

that is but there it is

he lost his life in our bumper and I

don't know is that a

what is that don't even know what the

hell that is but

this thing was covered

ridiculously covered to the point where

I'm actually doing a review later on

on two bug products as soon as I finish

this video this one mothers and uh this

one here bug and tar by turtlewax I'm

gonna do a side by side I did plan on

getting next nextogen I think it's

called our next-gen

they didn't have it at AutoZone way to

go so that's what we have to do when I

pull out the power washer and start

scrubbing this thing

um tires oh let's just talk about tires

I was a little worried about these tires

because we're on concrete and on asphalt

99 of the time until you get to

Yellowstone

so if you're like us and you're looking

for an adventure and you're asking for

tips from the locals on where to take

your vehicle take it with a grain of

salt because the misses was like oh my

God the guy at the blah blah blah told

me to check out this Trail named blah

blah blah and we're driving down the

road and she goes turn here it looks

like gravel babe

yeah but this is supposed to be Scenic I

said okay

because I listened to her

for the most part

and suddenly I realize it's one way in

and it's a six mile Journey

with a drop off on the side and it's a

dirt trail that I would probably just

take the Rubicon but we got stuck on it

with this and this is what it looked

like check this out

how much dirt in the back of the car

yeah

that's right

so technically

we took this vehicle off-roading

not just in that precarious spot which

the pucker factor I swear to God was so

high

I could crush coal into diamonds in my

butthole that's how bad the pucker

Factor was when we took this drive with

the Wagoneer you gotta remember it's

loaded up

I've got my children in the car we've

got the baby and we're stuck going one

way so please be careful when you choose

a route in Yellowstone or even in the

Zion area because it wasn't the first

time another thing I noticed out there

in the midwest in the mountains

they don't even really give a about

guardrails there are no guard rails like

anywhere it's kind of like their natural

selection type thing like well if they

can't drive and they fall off the cliff

more food and water for the rest of us

um didn't really see any guard rails out

there in a lot of spots so

be very careful but yes we took this

off-roading on many many dirt and gravel

trails without any incidents or any

issues it handled very well

so handling and drivability on Trails

like that now I'm not talking about

climate over any rocks but your dirt and

gravel trails in the mountains it gets a

A an eight out of ten maybe a seven out

of ten because it's not something you

should do not something I really want to

do but none of these trails that we took

it on

it couldn't handle okay again

user uh it's a use at your own risk

basically

so tires the tires did well and these

are the tires they're Eagle touring

they did very very well as far as uh oh

wow look this is one wheel that she

didn't she didn't curb oh I'm so

impressed good job babe let me go check

the front oh yeah she got this one

the misses anyway still love her

Goodyear touring did a great job

oh speaking of the the vehicle she had

it serviced right before we left

and I recommend getting an oil change

right before you go especially if you're

going to do this type of driving like we

did because I believe we're now in the

shade the percentage of oil it was a

6500 drive and normally

I would uh

get the oil changed at

let's see

there it is we got 37 left you see that

37 percent

left on the um

the oil now

I do mine this is just a personal

preference you don't have to do it it's

every 3000 Miles with me religiously I'm

different other people may not agree

some people will just probably work this

all the way down to zero before they do

it

the misses

um but me personally every three

thousand five thousand Max to get it

done so yeah this is due in for service

and not just for the oil change now we

got to talk about the negative Parts

about this vehicle Okay so

let's talk about the Uconnect

actually love this Uconnect except the

damn thing

didn't work 100 of the time when we're

out there for some reason the navigation

feature that links that screen

oh hold on map display

okay so you get your map navigation here

you get it in a heads up display I don't

know if you can see that right let me

see if I can zoom in

yeah right there it's blinking because

it's not synced very well with the LEDs

um

hold on one second okay and then you

also have a display over here that you

can turn on and show you if I can turn

this on here

okay and then you can't see it from this

angle to distract the driver but you can

see it over here you can actually put

the map on it over there this for some

reason the GPS let me shut her off

the GPS just did not work just stopped

working

and it would give us a um a gray

icon

it's supposed to be blue when it's gray

it's not getting any reception or it's

just disconnected and it told us

actually it's a Services when we got

back so

as far as the Uconnect goes and this is

all jeeps and this is a Chrysler across

the board and you connect

sucks there have been more glitches with

my vehicles and you connect that I would

ever love to talk about I don't

understand why they can't get this

correct like what is going on

fix your software it's buggy that was my

biggest great is that the Uconnect

um

for a a day did not work like the

luckily carplay still worked and I was

able to use my phone and use Waze but

yeah so that was a kind of a bummer so

about everything and I do I absolutely

do

that's just bringing me to why we're

trading it in we're not trading it in to

get another vehicle we're trading it up

for a newer Wagoneer oh crap he click

baited us we're wondering what the hell

damn you East Coast Jeep SRT I didn't

clickbait it's the damn truth we want to

trade this in we started looking into

trading up for 2024. why do we want to

trade it in if this is such a wonderful

vehicle and there's nothing wrong with

it I mean because the next car is going

to have Uconnect issues well I'll tell

you why

in the 2024 Wagoneer you get an extra

foot of space here okay it's a little

wider as far as their spec skill I don't

know the exact width of the vehicle

but space an extra foot

is is awesome so not only do you do you

get the the third row and the eight

seats

or you could go with the captain chairs

you get

another foot of space for for for

luggage

that's one of the reasons why we wanted

to trade it in but we love this damn

thing so much

that we wanted all the bells and

whistles the 2024 also has like an AI

it's almost like a Tesla it it drives

itself it Parts itself like the

trackhawk but it also has the ability to

steer not just adaptive cruise control

it has like a little built-in AI from

what the video we watched and it's able

to drive itself a little bit on the

highway which is freaking perfect when

you are driving this thing hundreds of

miles thousands of miles across country

so yes look for this to be traded in in

the coming months probably within the

year

um we've got a lot of other things to do

with the house as far as we've got to

get our deck torn down and put a new

deck in but this car will be going and

it will be for another one that's why

the title is you know why we're getting

rid of it not because there's anything

wrong or that we hate it it's because we

love it so much we want the bigger one

believe it or not even with all of our

parking issues

we want

a bigger vehicle now we should just get

an RV and say screw it but this thing is

so comfortable during the day for work

and driving back and forth for uh the

misses you know

it would be great to have it for both it

would be great to have you know uh

a car luxury car for back and forth and

it is a luxury car it's just they did a

really great job with this thing now of

course we've had some uh issues warranty

issues and people were like wow that's

because you never get the first one or

no some people say it's a Jeep

so tired of brand homers out there

listen scooter

every single car no matter what you like

is going to have issues every single

brand it's going to have warranty issues

that's why you have a warranty with

everyone so scooter before you tell me

it's a Jeep or it's this and whatever

your freaking Potato Head is trying to

explain to me I don't want to hear it I

don't care because I've had so many

different brands I've had I think almost

every major American brand I've had

Chevy I've had Ford Dodge

Jeeps um every single one has had issues

I've never had a car I don't think that

I could recall that I was like man this

thing just drives this is Works nothing

on it ever went wrong

maybe I have can't recall that's because

of age

but don't worry about that type of stuff

okay if you're getting a vehicle get it

because you love the vehicle get it

because it fits your needs

and

if an issue arises go wow you know what

it's good they don't have a warranty so

that's why we're trading it in we're

trading it in for the bigger version

this thing is big

it's just not big enough we need a

little bit more space we do like the

other features uh that the because this

is a level three wagon air it's not the

grand so it came with the five seven

engine the Grands have the six four

and

not that I would ever want a 6'4 again

because of the SRT six fours are trash

in my opinion

but yes

to go with the uh the larger longer

um with the uh in AI enhanced adaptive

cruise control or whatever they call it

yeah I think that's pretty much what we

want to do because this thing is just an

incredible

an incredible vehicle to drive it was

the best time

and if you stick around to the end I'll

show you some crazy Clips uh not just

um us going down that dirt Trail but

they had running through Kansas trying

to get away from a storm that was uh

like tornado type storm at 90 miles an

hour

trying to beat this storm the the amount

of lightning strikes we saw were just

incredible it just never seen that many

in once in one spot for 100 miles and it

just never stopped it just never stopped

um

yeah I'll have some clips of the trip

um to look into getting rid of this

for the 2024. so now if we do wait

probably within the next year then maybe

the 2025s will be out maybe it'll be

something else added who knows the

Uconnect

which is a pain in the ass with every

vehicle I've ever had from the SRT

having GPS location issues to the track

Hall having some issues to now this

vehicle

um even my uh Rubicon

the Uconnect has had some issues

it's not the vehicle it's the Uconnect

company and

for whatever reason

it still hasn't gotten it right so

that's all I got
