play00:11

Ah, it's so nice to meet you. Ah, it’s nice to meet you.

play00:13

We have P1Harmony here. Let’s introduce yourselves one by one.

play00:17

Hi, I’m Keeho from P1Harmony. I’ll do my best.

play00:21

Hello, I’m Jiung from P1Harmony.

play00:25

Hello, I’m Intak from P1Harmony.

play00:28

When I heard you were coming to our channel, I was really surprised.

play00:31

We were the ones who were surprised!

play00:34

Seriously? Because our channel is still small but growing.

play00:42

We’re just doing things step by step, so having you here, and for a drinking content no less, felt like a big deal.

play00:49

That’s why I liked it even more!

play00:51

Oh really? It’s such an honor. This is actually the first time I’ve had a group of guests, so it’s really special for me too.

play00:58

It feels a bit unfamiliar, but in a good way.

play01:00

We are honored as well.

play01:02

I heard this restaurant, recommended by P1Harmony, is a popular spot.

play01:06

[Keeho] Yes, I recommended it! [HanHae] I thought it would be Keeho.

play01:08

Oh really? I actually love these kinds of traditional Korean meals with lots of side dishes.

play01:15

I heard you like Korean food.

play01:16

Yes, I do. I come here often, but only two or three times, not too much.

play01:22

When I thought of where to go, this place immediately came to mind, so I recommended it.

play01:26

Since we’ve met on the radio show, can I speak casually?

play01:30

[Intak/Jiung] Of course, feel free to speak comfortably!

play01:33

You can speak casually too.

play01:37

You all can speak casually as well.

play01:39

[Keeho] Ah, no no. [HanHae] It’s okay. You can call me “hyung” (older brother) and speak casually too.

play01:44

[Keeho] I was surprised because I thought you let us speak informal language to you.

play01:46

[Intak] He's from Canada, so He doesn't know [HanHae] A rude style? (joking)

play01:52

I was just joking, you guys can speak casually to me! Then, I’ll start speaking casually since this isn’t our first time meeting.

play02:00

Since Keeho recommended this place, shall we order according to his suggestion?

play02:09

[Keeho] Yes, let’s do that. I usually have a set menu here.

play02:13

Shall we order the set menu then?

play02:16

That sounds good. The dishes will keep coming out one after another anyway.

play02:18

By the way, do you like drinking, or are you interested in wine?

play02:24

[Intak] I actually like all kinds of alcohol. I really enjoy **soju** mixed with beer (soju + beer = so-maek).

play02:30

[HanHae] So-maek is the best! [Intak] Just Pork belly and soju.

play02:32

What is your limit?

play02:34

[Intak] I don’t drink often, just a little soju and beer. Sometimes, I drink alone with some cheese and cherry tomatoes.

play02:43

You like to set up the food nicely, even when you are drinking alone.

play02:48

You probably don’t get much time to drink by yourself, aren't you?

play02:50

[Keeho] But since we all have our own rooms, we sometimes do.

play02:53

It's funny you drink alone in your rooms in the same house. What about you, Keeho?

play02:58

I like tequila.

play03:02

Tequila? Tequila is really popular globally these days.

play03:08

[HanHae] Especially since you are from Canada [Keeho] Yes, I like snacks (anju).

play03:12

What kind of snacks do you like with alcohol?

play03:14

[Keeho] Wait, did I say snacks? [Jiung] rice? food?

play03:17

Sorry, I wasn't saying about snacks, I meant drinks!! Western liquor" (yangju) like whiskey.

play03:25

When we say "Western liquor" (yangju), that includes whiskey and tequila, right?

play03:29

Yes, it covers whiskey, tequila, and more.

play03:34

How about you, Jiung?

play03:36

Before go to bed, I enjoy having a can of beer or two or three glasses of wine.

play03:39

So, you're into wine too?

play03:42

Actually, I was thinking what should I bring for you, but I brought champagne for the starter.

play03:48

I even brought my own wine chiller. and It's chilled now.

play03:51

Wow..Amazing!

play03:53

You might have seen it before—it's Laurent-Perrier champagne.

play03:56

It's a famous champagne house.

play03:58

There’s a reason I chose this champagne today. Do you want to guess?

play04:03

[Kiung] Harmony?

play04:07

You’re sharp! [Kiung] I guessed it right away!

play04:09

Wine lovers really appreciate these kinds of thoughtful touches.

play04:12

Since I knew you were coming, I chose this champagne just for you.

play04:15

[All] Thank you so much.

play04:18

And since I’m not fully familiar with your tastes, I chose something not too dry. This is a **demi-sec** champagne, which means it has a bit of sweetness.

play04:32

[Keeho] NICE!!

play04:35

[HanHae] Wow, your reaction is really good.

play04:37

[Keeho] Because I’m really looking forward to it.

play04:38

[HanHae] I like that!!

play04:40

[Intak] He always has a good reaction.

play04:41

[Keeho] Isn't champagne pop loudly?

play04:44

Some people don’t like the sound of champagne popping, but real wine enthusiasts enjoy it when it opens quietly with a soft hiss.

play04:52

[Jiung] It’s the first time I’ve seen champagne opened so smoothly without a loud pop.

play04:56

It should sound like a gentle whistle.

play04:59

[Jiung] Should I pour first?

play05:02

No, let me pour for you since you came all the way here.

play05:07

[Jiung] Thank you. Let me pour for you now.

play05:11

[HanHae] Oh, thank you! I can pour it by myself but I appreciate it.

play05:16

[Staff] He treats you like an elderly person.

play05:19

Thank you for coming today.

play05:25

[All] Thank you.

play05:33

[Intak] Wow, this is really delicious.

play05:35

[HanHae] The sweetness of this champagne is balanced by its acidity.

play05:41

[Keeho] This is really my style! I need to take a picture of this champagne!

play05:45

Let’s eat while we talk, since we’re all hungry.

play06:03

Are you all waiting until I have a first bite?

play06:10

I’ve been in the industry for years, but it’s rare to be treated with such respect.

play06:19

[Jiung] But with wine, there are so many types, it's hard to know what to choose.

play06:20

[Jiung] Finding one that suits your taste and pairs well with food is tricky, so I think you are really cool.

play06:29

[Keeho] I think it’s so impressive when someone goes to a restaurant and confidently orders a bottle, saying, "I’ll have the 1997, please."

play06:35

[HanHae] But here’s a tip: when you don’t know much, it’s better not to pretend. There’s no shame in admitting you don’t know.

play06:41

If you’re unsure, just order the second cheapest wine on the menu.

play06:55

It’s a tip from sommeliers—it makes you look like you know what you’re doing without spending too much.

play07:08

[Jiung] Wow, it's a good tip.

play07:10

How long did you live in Canada?

play07:11

[Keeho] I was born there and lived there for 18 years before coming to Korea.

play07:16

I find it so interesting that you, as a foreigner, ended up being the leader of the group.

play07:24

Usually, the leader is the one who's fluent in Korean or who grew up here.

play07:29

How did you become the leader?

play07:31

[Keeho] I was surprised too.

play07:33

[HanHae] Who made the decision?

play07:34

The company decided.

play07:37

Were you okay with that decision? Did you agree?

play07:40

[Jiung] Actually, we had a bit of a fight over it.

play07:42

[Intak] Do you want to know what happened?

play07:43

[HanHae] Oh, tell us the story! I’m curious.

play07:44

[Jiung] It was back when we were trainees. I really wanted to be the leader.

play07:48

Oh, you wanted to be the leader?

play07:51

[Jiung] Yeah, since I was young, I was always class president or vice president in school.

play07:54

[HanHae] So, Jiung has that vibe. He looks like the responsible type, the class president type.

play08:04

[Jiung] So, during our trainee days, I had this desire to be the leader, and I thought I would be chosen, but then Keeho became the leader. I felt a little jealous.

play08:15

[HanHae] You were jealous that you didn’t get chosen as the leader?

play08:17

[Jiung] Yes, but the company told me that Keeho would be the leader, and they asked me to support him well, almost like a second leader. That hurt my pride a bit.

play08:33

[Keeho] We were both feeling hurt, like, "Why does he have to support me when I could do it all myself?"

play08:39

[Jiung] But Keeho and I were roommates, along with Intak, so whenever Keeho and I had to talk, Intak would leave the room.

play08:53

[HanHae] Poor Intak! [Intak] It was fine, though I would just go to the living room and use my phone.

play08:58

[HanHae] Even better! [Intak] Yeah, it worked out.

play09:01

[Jiung] But the important thing is, no matter how much we argued, we had a rule: we always tried to resolve things before the day ended.

play09:06

You guys always made up.

play09:09

[Jiung] That mindset really helped us back then.

play09:21

[Keeho] And now we can talk about it comfortably because it’s all in the past.

play09:23

So, there's no hard feelings now?

play09:29

[Keeho] Yeah, not at all. We're totally fine now.

play09:32

I heard you guys are preparing for a comeback soon.

play09:34

[All] Yes, we are! It’s coming up.

play09:36

I’m curious about the new song and what kind of style it is.

play09:39

[Jiung] It’s our 7th mini-album.

play09:41

What’s the title?

play09:42

[Jiung] It’s called "Sad Song."

play09:44

It's a song with Latin rhythm and melody.

play09:49

[HanHae] Aiming for international fans?

play09:51

[Everyone laughs]

play09:56

[Jiung] We like to challenge ourselves to new things. We met this song while looking for something new.

play10:02

Do you write and compose your own songs?

play10:03

[Keeho] Yes, ever since our debut, we’ve always included one self-composed song in every album, but this time, we have three self-written songs.

play10:14

Jiung wrote one, and I wrote one as well.

play10:23

[HanHae] Speaking of which, I remember when I didn’t know who Jongseob was, but I found out he was on *K-Pop Star*.

play10:28

Oh, Jongseob did really well back then!

play10:30

I was so amazed when I found that out, so I watched some P1Harmony videos and saw Intak’s performance, and he was really good at singing too.

play10:34

[Keeho] Our rap line is actually a secret weapon of the group.

play10:39

A secret weapon?

play10:48

[Keeho] Yes, because since our debut, we’ve always written our own rap parts.

play10:53

And I honestly think that without those rap parts, our songs wouldn’t be the same.

play10:57

The songs match us better because of the rap parts.

play11:05

So, even though it’s hard work, the quality of our music improves because of it.

play11:10

[HanHae] How do you feel about what leader said, Intak?

play11:12

[Intak] I feel good! I love compliments.

play11:17

When it’s a song I’m working on, I always think, "I can’t make this sound lame."

play11:19

So, I try to put a lot of effort into it.

play11:30

Shall we move on to the next wine?

play11:31

[All] We’d love that.

play11:33

This next one is a *Sauvignon Blanc* from New Zealand.

play11:36

[Jiung] New Zealand? Great! [Intak] Sounds delicious!

play11:39

It’s from Marlborough, and it’s a very popular wine among beginners because it’s clean and pairs well with seafood and other dishes.

play11:49

I prepared this one because it’s refreshing and easy to drink.

play11:54

Thank you!

play12:02

[Keeho] Thank you, this wine is delicious!

play12:06

[Intak] Wow, this is really good!

play12:08

[Keeho] I think it’s something you would like.

play12:10

Yeah, it has a fruity, refreshing taste, perfect for a casual drink.

play12:14

Exactly. Wine pairs so well with food, and it’s such a fun, social drink.

play12:19

Honestly, I enjoy wine because it makes me happy.

play12:25

It’s a rare opportunity to have these kinds of deep conversations with my juniors, so I’m really grateful for this moment.

play12:34

I'll be cheering for you more, right?

play12:37

[Keeho] Thank you so much.

play12:40

Our album is coming out on September 20th.

play12:47

[Intak] He's really good at doing work as the leader.

play12:56

But it must be tough keeping to a diet during promotions.

play12:59

[Keeho] Yeah, but we’ve been eating lightly for the past few days, so we can eat a lot today.

play13:02

Today is my cheat day!

play13:06

This morning, I only had Greek yogurt.

play13:11

[HanHae] We call it a "cheating day," in Korea, is it "cheat-day" in English?

play13:13

[Keeho] We call it "cheat day," but I’ve heard some people say "cheating day."

play13:20

[HanHae] Also, you said "Gree-k yogurt," but I say "greek yogurt."

play13:25

[Jiung] I think he was trying to pronounce like Korean, so maybe it sounded different.

play13:32

[HanHae] Earlier, when he even said "Spotify," he stuttered.

play13:35

[Jiung] He translates English words into Konglish.

play13:42

[HanHae] It’s kind of cool.

play13:43

[Keeho] Thank you!

play13:44

[HanHae] It’s the typical "Korean uncle" when someone speaks English, they give a compliment!

play13:50

[Keeho] We travel abroad a lot, so the members are quite good at English. Jiung’s pronunciation is excellent, and Intak is also good.

play13:58

[Intak] Yeah, we try to improve since we’re constantly exposed to the language when traveling.

play14:03

[Keeho] Actually, earlier this year, we held our third tour overseas, and for the first time, we performed in arena-level venues.

play14:10

[HanHae] Arena-sized venues? That’s amazing!

play14:12

[Keeho] Yes, we performed at the Kia Forum, which is a famous concert hall in LA.

play14:18

[HanHae] I’ve heard of it!

play14:20

[Keeho] It was a sold-out show, and it was a really meaningful experience for us.

play14:24

[Intak] It was really meaningful because for any artist, the size of the venue is a huge motivator.

play14:28

Just being in a place where legends like Usher have performed... it’s such an honor.

play14:37

Even though it may seem like a small thing, just knowing that P1Harmony performed on the same stage as those artists gave us a sense of pride.

play14:46

[Keeho] We are looking forward to doing more events and performances in Korea as well.

play14:51

That’s one of our new goals—getting more involved in the Korean scene.

play14:55

I hope we can see you more often in Korea.

play14:56

[Keeho] Thank you! We will do our best.

play15:00

By the way, Jiung, you’re drinking quite fast!

play15:03

[Jiung] It’s fine, I’ll pace myself.

play15:05

Yeah, as we keep drinking, we’ll naturally speed up a bit.

play15:11

[Staff] I heard Jiung brought a wine as a gift.

play15:13

[HanHae] Really? Are we doing a blind test today too?

play15:17

[Staff] We weren't planning to do one today, but since he prepared such a wonderful setup, we felt like we should!

play15:20

I always say I won’t bring a gift, but then I end up doing it anyway.

play15:24

[HanHae] Oh, you brought it as a gift? That’s so thoughtful!

play15:27

Thank you.

play15:32

[Jiung] I always buy wine at "Red Tongue."

play15:34

You really enjoy wine!

play15:36

[Jiung] Yeah, I even buy Port wine sometimes. I really love it.

play15:38

Wait, is that a hint?

play15:52

The "legs" (wine tears) on the glass indicate the thickness of the grape skins used.

play16:04

[Intak] How can you tell the grape variety from just that?

play16:06

[HanHae] It’s not an exact science, but it’s a clue.

play16:14

When you smell it, instead of a strong fruity scent bursting out, you can detect the aromas that come from being aged in oak, like a bit of vanilla.

play16:33

Oh, this is a bit tricky.

play16:37

Based on the color and scent, I initially thought it might be a *Cabernet Sauvignon*, but the tannins don’t seem strong enough for that.

play16:50

It’s not as thick as a Cabernet Sauvignon, but it doesn’t have the spiciness of a Shiraz either.

play16:56

[Jiung] Do you want a hint?

play16:59

No, no hints yet! Let me try it first.

play17:03

Do you guys want to try too?

play17:18

[Intak] Let me see the label.

play17:25

[Intak] Let me memorize the name.

play17:32

HanHae is really serious about this.

play17:37

[HanHae] What do you think about the wine?

play17:40

[All] We haven't tried it yet!

play17:53

[Keeho] It’s very light.

play17:58

Yes, it’s quite light and the aroma is not very strong.

play18:04

The tannins are soft, and there’s no lingering bitterness. It’s smooth.

play18:15

[Intak] It’s definitely not overwhelming in flavor.

play18:22

Okay, I’m narrowing it down. I’m thinking either an American *Merlot* or an *Italian Super Tuscan*.

play18:35

In Italy, they mostly make wine using Italian grape varieties.

play18:37

But Italy also makes wines with famous French grape varieties.

play18:41

Those are called Super Tuscans.

play18:43

This wine is reminding me a bit of an Italian Super Tuscan.

play18:46

The vintage seems pretty recent, probably within the last 3 to 4 years.

play18:56

My final guess—although I might be wrong—is that it’s an American Merlot. Drumroll, please!

play19:06

It's Tempranillo from Spain!

play19:13

It was a Spanish wine. I actually guessed Tempranillo from Spain correctly in a previous episode.

play19:16

Same country, same grape variety, but I missed it this time.

play19:21

It just shows how much wine can vary depending on who makes it and from which region it comes.

play19:29

This is actually quite a strong style for a Spanish Tempranillo.

play19:31

[Jiung] Oh really?

play19:33

And, you know how we decant wine?

play19:36

You can let it sit for a long time when decanting because it’s such a heavy style.

play19:41

[Intak] The flavor and heaviness you experience now are a bit different from when it was first opened.

play19:47

[HanHae] Yeah, it felt much heavier.

play19:52

One of the aromas I detected from the Tempranillo might sound odd, but I’ve mentioned it before—it has a bit of a baby spit-up scent.

play20:06

[Intak] There’s something slightly reminiscent of it, even though it’s not literally baby spit-up.

play20:10

[Keeho] How do you know what baby spit-up smells like?

play20:12

[HanHae] It’s like how we know the scent of it without actually tasting it.

play20:21

[Jiung] I have a younger sibling who’s seven years younger than me, so I’ve taken care of him, including cleaning up his throw-up. That scent sticks with you.

play20:30

[HanHae] Yeah, I’ve experienced it too—my niece threw up in my hands, so maybe that’s why I get it.

play20:36

[Keeho] Honestly, I don’t really get the baby throw-up scent.

play20:42

Anyway, I prepared three wines for today, one for each of you. I heard Jiung likes Port wine, so I prepared a dessert wine to have later.

play20:52

[All] Wow, thank you!

play20:54

This one’s a bit unique. It’s a Hungarian wine.

play21:00

Hungarian dessert wine?

play21:03

Yes, it’s one of the world’s top three dessert wines. One is from France, a renowned dessert wine from the Sauternes region, which is considered one of the best.

play21:11

Another one is from Germany. It’s called *Trockenbeerenauslese*, or TBA for short, and it’s also a very famous dessert wine.

play21:24

And the third one is *Tokaji Aszú* from Hungary.

play21:29

You’ll notice the bottle is smaller than usual, about 500ml, and it’s marked as "six puttonyos."

play21:34

So, what this means is that when making dessert wine,

play21:36

dessert wine is usually sweet, so they dry the grapes and press them for juice.

play21:40

So, just imagine how sweet that juice must be! They make the dessert wine drop by drop from that juice.

play21:52

The "6 puttonyos" symbolizes a basket,

play21:56

So, The "3 puttonyos" means three baskets of juice. The "4 puttonyos" means they put 4 baskets of juice.

play22:00

But this one has six baskets of juice in it.

play22:04

[Intak] It's all contained in one bottle?

play22:06

Yes, it’s all in one bottle.

play22:11

This one is the most expensive among the three wines I prepared today.

play22:15

[All] Oh, it looks like it!

play22:18

I want you guys to have your first experience with a good dessert wine. So, you realize, “Ah, this is the charm of dessert wine.”

play22:25

It's a bit cold.

play22:29

[Keeho] Oh, does it have to be hot?

play22:31

Ah, it doesn’t have to be hot, but it’s too cold now.

play22:32

[HanHae] And the finish is really long.

play22:35

But it’s okay. If you take a sniff, you can really smell the sweetness.

play22:43

[Intak] It doesn’t feel like a typical wine aroma, does it?

play22:48

Right, it feels very sweet and has a caramel scent as well.

play22:50

[Intak] Yeah, caramel.

play22:57

[HanHae] It’s very sweet, but it won’t just be sweet; it’s balanced with acidity.

play23:05

[Keeho] Wow, it’s completely syrup-like.

play23:07

But syrup is just sweet, right?

play23:10

[Jiung] But there’s something supporting it here.

play23:16

[Keeho] Oh, wow! And the texture feels a bit more viscous, doesn’t it?

play23:18

Oh, yes. It feels much more viscous. The sweetness is there, and you feel that viscosity.

play23:25

[Intak] Actually, this is made from grapes, right?

play23:30

Yes, it’s 100% grape wine.

play23:35

Now, when it comes to dessert wine

play23:37

If you’ve had dessert wine like Tokaji or Aszu,

play23:40

You could say, "I know a bit about wine,".

play23:42

[Keeho] Oh, Thanks to you!

play23:47

And today, I have something special prepared. You like port wine, right?

play23:53

So, I have one that I used to drink at home.

play23:57

I think it’ll be really nice to try it at the end.

play24:02

As you can tell from the bottle, it’s been aged for 40 years.

play24:04

It’s been aged for 40 years, and port wine has a certain alcohol content, so it’s quite viscous as well.

play24:09

Even when opened, it’s okay.

play24:11

Actually, I opened this about a month ago—maybe over a month?

play24:15

It's been a few months, but when I tried it today, the flavor is still alive, so I brought it.

play24:19

This is something my friend brought back from Portugal when they went there because they know I love wine.

play24:28

[Jiung] I’m having such a great experience.

play24:32

So, what’s the relation between port and dessert?

play24:34

Port is included in the dessert, right?

play24:36

As for port wine, they make it by strengthening the wine with spirits.

play24:39

So they add a bit more alcohol.

play24:41

[Intak] Oh, alcohol is just added? Oh.

play24:46

This one feels completely different; it’s like hazelnut.

play24:52

[Keeho] It really gives off a whiskey vibe too.

play24:54

[Intak] Right? It totally feels like whiskey. So,

play24:57

The charm of these aged port wines is that they feel just like whiskey.

play25:03

[Jisung] Wow, after 40 years, this is what comes out.

play25:05

[Intak] It’s amazing. It hasn’t been moved for 40 years.

play25:09

[Keeho] That’s incredible! It’s like a big brother.

play25:13

[HanHae] Let’s enjoy it slowly; the alcohol content is high.

play25:19

Hazelnut and those nutty aromas are really nice.

play25:24

[Intak] It’s truly amazing. You can really feel the nutty flavor.

play25:29

[Keeho] I can feel it even now in my mouth.

play25:34

[Jiung] Right. [Intak] This is really delicious.

play25:39

[HanHae] I’m really grateful that P1Harmony came to my channel

play25:41

and I wanted to introduce some various wines.

play25:45

[All] Thank you.

play25:47

I’ve prepared a variety of forms.

play25:49

[Jiung] We are really honored. Today.

play25:50

if any of these four

play25:52

are to your liking,

play25:53

you can actually start with that.

play25:56

I tried an old port last time, and it was so charming.

play25:58

Or I tried some champagne, and it was really good.

play26:00

Or I’ve had some Sauvignon Blanc, and it was great too.

play26:02

I prepared this to create an opportunity to get you guys fall into wine.

play26:08

[Keeho] Today, it’s my first time experiencing so many different wines.

play26:18

[Jiung] Honestly, I’ve almost forgotten that we’re filming,

play26:22

and I just felt like I was casually eating and drinking.

play26:25

[HanHae] Anyway, since you have new album coming out and I know you must be busy,

play26:29

but if you could relax just a bit today, that would be great.

play26:31

I really want to maintain a good relationship like a good brother.

play26:35

And I’ll buy you guys lots of delicious drinks.

play26:38

[All] Wow, thank you!

play26:42

[HanHae] Let’s just end it here.
