Outlines
🚗 Diagnosing a Golf 6 with Engine Issues
The video begins with the presenter addressing the viewers' potential skepticism about his choice of car, a Golf 6 in a striking sky blue color, which he opens up to discuss its engine problems. He explains that the car, equipped with the acclaimed 1.4L engine boasting 80 horsepower, was bought at a bargain price due to its running issues. Despite the engine's reputation for reliability, this particular one struggles with proper operation, sparking a detailed investigation. The presenter suspects a lack of oil pressure without having started the engine, based on a warning indicator. He explains the significance of the oil pressure sensor and its new replacement, hinting at deeper issues than just a faulty sensor. The video sets the stage for a thorough diagnostic process, involving checking the oil level, considering the use of an oil pressure gauge, inspecting the spark plugs and cylinder walls for damage indicative of running without oil pressure, and contemplating the engine's overall health through visual and diagnostic checks.
🔍 Initial Engine Inspection and Attempts to Identify the Problem
The second segment of the video delves deeper into the engine inspection, focusing on the cylinder walls and spark plugs to gauge the engine's condition. The presenter notices unusual deposits that could either be rust or oil, raising concerns about oil pressure issues. He proceeds to remove the spark plugs, inspecting them for signs of wear or damage, and uses an endoscope to examine the cylinder walls for any abnormalities. Despite finding some wear and potential oil traces, the engine does not show conclusive evidence of significant damage from running without oil pressure. The presenter decides to provisionally reinstall the spark plugs and start the engine, hoping to assess its sound and performance for further clues about the oil pressure issue. The engine sounds normal upon starting, but the absence of warning lights does not fully dispel concerns about oil pressure, hinting at the need for further testing, especially under warm conditions.
🛠 Identifying the Oil Pressure Issue and Inspecting the Oil Pump
In this part, the presenter commits to resolving the oil pressure problem by planning to attach a manometer to measure the actual oil pressure accurately. He speculates on the functioning of the oil pump, which is driven by the crankshaft, and considers inspecting it for potential issues. Without an oil pressure gauge on hand, he opts to drain the oil and remove the oil pan to visually inspect the engine's lower components. The discovery of overly brown, overdue oil and possible metal shavings prompts a closer look at the oil pump's intake screen. The presenter's commentary guides viewers through the process of diagnosing and addressing complex engine issues, emphasizing the importance of regular maintenance and the challenges of troubleshooting without immediate access to all the necessary tools.
🔧 Cleaning the Oil Pickup and Addressing Severe Sludge
The video progresses to revealing the cause of the oil pressure problem: a severely clogged oil pickup screen, filled with sludge and debris, preventing proper oil flow. This discovery explains the lack of oil pressure, as the pump could not intake oil efficiently. The presenter meticulously cleans the oil pickup and the oil pan, removing sludge and debris that had accumulated over time due to neglected oil changes. He emphasizes the critical nature of regular oil maintenance to prevent such issues. The segment concludes with the presenter reassembling the engine components, stressing the importance of a clean oil system for engine health and the temporary fixes applied to verify the engine's functionality before committing to more extensive repairs.
🚀 Final Engine Test and Reflections on Maintenance Importance
In the concluding segment, the presenter replaces the oil filter and refills the engine with fresh oil, preparing for a final test to confirm the resolution of the oil pressure issue. He also checks the timing belt for wear, deciding it appears in good condition but plans to replace it as a precaution. Upon starting the engine, he notes an improvement in its sound and functionality, with no oil pressure warning lights indicating a successful intervention. The engine is then tested under normal operating conditions, showing no signs of oil pressure issues. This resolution leads the presenter to reflect on the critical importance of regular maintenance, such as oil changes, to prevent severe engine problems. He hints at future content, including a compression test to evaluate the engine's overall health, emphasizing the ongoing journey of automotive repair and maintenance.

Transcripts
Mann jetzt denkt euch was schiebt der
wirklich wieder ganz genau aufpassen was
uns mal genauer
angucken nicht starten kein
Öldruck h mehr brauche ich jetzt hier
euch gar nicht erzählen der soll kein
Öldruck haben ich habe auch wirklich
noch nicht gestartet weil ich wollte
dass ihr dabei seid ja kein Öldruck
möchte ja keiner lesen
gut was ist denn was heißt denn kein
also Öl ist
drauf
dann leider besorgen
aussehen
fest also kurz vorm abreißen hier
VW
runter
schön so das müsste ganz unten
sein
okay diese Zylinderwand sieht in Ordnung
aus II i
i also das sieht ja alles andere als gut
weggeht
ob das da so ein Ölfilm vielleicht
ist Achtung der kben
kommt so und jetzt wieder
zurück jetzt gucken wir noch
mal nee SMer noch
da
sind das wirklich so Spuren vom
Ölverlust
vom vom zu niedrigen Öldruck ich guck
mal in den zweiten
rein so was haben wir denn da
liegen keine Ahnung ist auch egal so
jetzt ist der Kolben
unten jetzt
aber
ja da sieht's
schon bisschen besser
aus irgendwie bin ich hier so komisch
drin ja das finde ich ist normaler
Verschleiß die Seite
da ja ist auch
okay der
dritte
der ist
unten was da braun ist glaub das
spiegelt einfach nur
oder auch schon fatal
oder aber jetzt sieht wirklich nicht so
aus wie de
übrigens
140 000
gelaufen
150 schwierig schwierig
provisorisch wieder
laufen lassen ich will mir mal anhören
wie der
[Applaus]
[Musik]
hört dir doch gut an
[Musik]
jo okay das reicht mir so was sagt uns
guck doch mal hier
probiere mal da was einzublenden dass
dann was sehen weil ich ja jetzt hier
auch den Öldruckmesser nicht da
[Musik]
Seiten
rauskommt
[Musik]
Schrauben sind ab jetzt werde ich mal
probieren sie klebt natürlich
noch
ein bisschen
abzuhebeln J jetzt kommt's
oh oh
oh das schwimmt ein
richtiger Schleim unten
drin ich habe hier so ein
Filter da lass ich das mal
durchlaufen wenn so
funktioniert guckt euch das mal an boah
a guckt euch mal hier die Brocken
Bremsreiniger
sauber guckt e mal die dicken Brocken
an hier sieht's genauso so
genauer
an
so man sieht ja immer irgendwie was
bisschen rausgekloopft Bo also
hängt da immer noch was
drin also das müsste
ich habe's jetzt sauber gekriegt also
I was habe ich vergessen den Schnorchel
und ich hätte mich dann gewundert warum
man kein Öldruck hat
müsen nenswo
anstoßen oh die sitzt
gut
[Musik]
[Musik]
Aktion
auch ein VW
Filter steht aber kein Bauer
drauf so jetzt mit 120 newtonm nein nur
so
so ja da geht noch was
rein ja ein Schlückchen
noch
ja
perfekt geh doch rein was ist denn
[Musik]
laufen
so jetzt schaut euch's
[Musik]
