Q & A
What is the main challenge people face when trying to understand native English speakers?
-The main challenge is that native speakers often connect words together without clear separation, which is a pattern not typically taught in Japanese English education. This makes it difficult for those who are used to hearing each word distinctly pronounced.
What is the significance of understanding the rules of word connection in English spoken by native speakers?
-Understanding these rules helps in improving listening skills and enables one to provide self-feedback when they fail to catch certain words, allowing them to identify why they couldn't understand and improve over time.
What is the purpose of the channel mentioned in the transcript?
-The purpose of the channel is to teach the audience how to learn English phonetic transformation through Hololive EN materials, aiming to help them understand native English speech patterns.
What is the benefit of learning phonetic transformation for listening to English?
-It allows individuals to identify why they might have missed certain words or phrases when listening to native speakers, which can significantly improve their listening comprehension and overall language proficiency.
What are the prerequisites for someone who wants to take the course mentioned in the transcript?
-The prerequisites include a genuine desire to improve listening skills and a basic understanding of middle to high school English. The course is not for deep dives into vocabulary or grammar but focuses on phonetic transformation.
Why should one avoid using Japanese subtitles while trying to learn English from videos?
-Using Japanese subtitles can lead to incorrect English learning as the brain tends to match the heard English sounds to the Japanese subtitles, causing a misinterpretation of the actual English phonetics and meanings.
What is the recommended approach for someone who is struggling to understand spoken English without subtitles?
-Start by listening without subtitles, attempt to understand as much as possible, and then use English subtitles to check the parts that were not understood. This helps reinforce the correct phonetic transformation rules.
How does the overlapping method help in learning English phonetic transformation?
-The overlapping method, where one speaks along with the audio, helps in practicing and internalizing the correct pronunciation and connection patterns of words in English as spoken by natives.
What is the potential downside of relying too much on translated subtitles while learning a new language?
-Relying on translated subtitles can lead to a false sense of understanding and may cause learners to miss out on the nuances of the language, including pronunciation and the natural flow of speech.
Why might the speaker suggest that the channel's approach to teaching English might not appeal to everyone?
-The channel's approach requires a commitment to understanding phonetic transformation and a willingness to work through the challenges of listening comprehension without relying on translations, which might be perceived as too demanding by some learners.
What does the speaker mean by 'overlapping' in the context of learning English phonetic transformation?
-Overlapping refers to the practice of speaking along with the audio, which helps learners to better understand and mimic the natural flow and connection of words as used by native English speakers.
What is the speaker's view on using English subtitles while learning English from videos?
-The speaker suggests that while English subtitles can be a helpful tool, especially for those who find listening without any subtitles too challenging, the ultimate goal should be to understand spoken English without relying on them.

Shuttheiではなくシューターに
なるすぐ段になるということでGet
withtはシーンですね
でシーンとシーンが繋がった場合今度
さっきのシーンと母音でしたねシーンと
シーンがつながった場合は前のシーンが
消えることが多いですねだからGet
でまたシーン母音なのでgalways
ofまた新母音なのでGreedof
