that the flip 6 is basically the same as

the flip 5 I'm here to tell you they're

wrong the flip 6 has all of its Secrets

underneath so let's go through them as

we have seen this design before it's

only a change in how it feels so yes the

design does look very similar but there

is change and how it looks and how it

feels in your hand so that's definitely

one but that's not the one I want to

talk about let's break this down into

hardware and then software but there's

definitely more in the hardware side

that you can't actually physically see

the first you can't see it but you can

feel it Samsung have gone back to matte

glass on the back of the flip 6 which

just feels so much better in the hand

versus the glossy finish much prefer it

I got a matte finish flip five last year

because I did not want to deal with the

glossy sort of fingerprint magnet that

those backs are but diving inside the

phone you have the Snapdragon H gen 3

for Galaxy now this was a chip that

brought unparalleled performance in the

s24 ultra earlier this year and we're

very excited to see what it does in the

foldable space this will enable way more

performance when it comes to things like

gaming and multitasking which not really

the flip is known for but some people do

want it so I'm glad to see this will

bring that L World performance but

alongside that Samsung have brought in

the first ever Vapor chamber for the

Galaxy Zed flip which is so exciting

because the flip naturally hasn't had

cooling before because of the reduced

space internally for all of the

components but the vapor chamber they've

put in here isn't just a vapor chamber

it's 1.6 times bigger than the vapor

chamber that was in the s23 ultra which

is the phone I'm using to record right

now and had incredible cooling

performance so if this is going to

bigger flip 6 should have an incredible

level of cooling as well and I really

like that because of the flips form

factor being able to prop it up into

different angles and record video I can

use that pretty extensively for boll

it's a very unique YouTuber thing but

that's just how my brain thinks now the

thing is I can also do that for a lot

longer because it's now got a 4,000

Milah battery flip needs this it needs

it because of the fact that I mean you

do get two screens so you can red used

usage of the phone by using the cover

screen but I still think to be in line

with the likes of the s24 and other

flagships you need to have a battery

that starts with a four and the 4,000

mAh battery in the flip 6 will give you

extended use time especially alongside

the more efficiency with the Snap Dragon

H gen 3 for Galaxy but probably the

biggest upgrade to the flip 6 isn't to

do with the hardware of the processing

and performance it's the camera whilst

it looks the same on the outside the

flip

finally finally brings a high resolution

sensor but for me it's not about the 50

megapixels it's about the fact it's now

a larger sensor which is going to give

you much better sort of lowl performance

as well as much better natural sort of

depth of field for taking content and

capturing things this 50 megapixel

sensor is the same one you will find on

the Zen fold 6 and the Galaxy s24 so

Samsung finally bringing the flip up to

the level of a flagship very excited to

see it good thing is too they' build a

feature to take advantage of it

especially when you're taking a cover

screen selfie with the cover screen you

can prop it up into sort of an 80° angle

to take cover screen photos from the

rear cameras Samsung have built into the

photo mode of this Auto framing which

means that when you turn this on it will

automatically frame you in the picture

so you don't have to think about it

depending if someone else comes into the

shot as well it will automatically zoom

in and out if it's zooming in it means

it's cropping into that 50 megapixel

sensor and going to give you a nice

clear image once it's done that crop

very excited about this the software

however I guess is where the flip can

sort of take advantage of this form

factor Samsung didn't redesign the cover

screen and I think that's a good thing

rather than throw it out and start again

Samsung just expanded its capabilities

again versus what it could do last year

you've got some new live interactive

wallpapers which I think for a phone

like the flip is quite uh fun and

expressive and kind of goes with how

people use their phones my flip five is

here and I constantly flip it around

like this so This live interactive

wallpaper when you tilt the flip around

you can actually see the stuff on the

screen move and interact with it and of

course if you're touching it too it also

responds really nice but probably from a

more practical sense Samsung have

redesigned how the widgets appear so

previously when you scroll through on

the flip it's just one card is One

widget whereas now you can organize

multiple widgets onto a card so you can

have different things that you can

interact with and see from just one

screen I think that makes more use of

the space that's that exists on the

cover screen and I'm excited to see it

come to the flip five especially

although I'll have a flip six hopefully

so we'll see Samsung have also built

contextualized replying from the cover

screen so if you get a message on your

cover screen and you don't feel like

opening your phone you can use the AI

function suggested replies when you

press this button it'll bring up three

different responses that are based off

the previous seven messages that you got

in the chain so I think reads up to 200

or 300 characters and then it'll give

you the three responses based off that

interaction so it's actually designed

and contextualized for that chat not

just generic stuff which I think is

pretty cool the big stuff though comes

from Galaxy AI if you've just come from

my fold six video you'll have seen a lot

of the sketch to image stuff that

Samsung have brought out that works best

with the S Pen although you still can do

it on the flip 6 it's not really

probably designed or made for it it's

definitely a fold thing the one that

works probably the best with the flip is

the new portrait studio mode the way

this works is you can turn a selfie into

a cartoon version of you it does only

work with one person you can't have

multiple people in the shot but if you

do have that selfie or or portrait shot

of yourself when you go into generative

edit and select portrait studio you will

see the option there to turn yourself

into different styles of cartoon whether

that be a comic book character whether

that be a 3D cartoon you've got the

options to choose from and when you hit

generate it gives you four different

options that are there for you to be

able to select from really neat I like

it the other one that I kind of

discovered by accident is live effects

normally when you swipe up on a photo of

yourself you'll really only see the

option to add a background effect or

blur whereas now Samsung created an

option in here to create like a 3D depth

effect so it s of live moves and sort of

separates you from the background we

obviously have seen this before in other

platforms but it's cool that Samsung

have kind of slipped this in here with

the flip SE Lodge and the last one that

I noticed that's sort of not exclusive

to flip it's on fold as well is the new

interpreter function where you press a

but where you press a button inside The

Interpreter app and it will activate the

cover screen so when you start talking

to someone the the translation will

appear on the cover screen facing them

and you'll see your screen so it's a

really neat way of sort of breaking down

communication barriers and offering

communication visually without needing

to sort of hand phones back and forth

you can just have a conversation with

someone really neat I really think this

would have been great when I was in

Europe I could have just put the phone

on the table talked into it and they

could have seen it across from where

they were standing or sitting I like the

concept short of that the flip 6 is

definitely more than meets the eye the

improvements to the hardware that lie

underneath the service will definitely

make improvements to your usage above it
