being a tour guide is seeing the the
smiles on people's faces and you know
helping them have a good experience
helping them to understand that
Polynesian culture is the same all
around like the spirit that they feel
here in the center is the same spirit
that they will feel if they were to go
in of the place a lot of them when they
come here they know nothing about
Polynesia and because that's my culture
that's what defines me I want to help
them understand that I am the person I
am today because of this place so I'm
able to to share with people things that
really matter most to
me over here people just welcome you you
know with open arms like regardless of
who you are and where you're from people
like your aunties and your uncles your
your brothers and your sisters so we're
like one big family here everyone who
comes into the center are not just
guests but they are my family and when I
see them that way I see them differently
and I want to offer them the best
experience just like our own family
members we want to make sure that when
they leave this place that um they
remember the things they have learned
here in this place at the end of the day
when they leave with smiling faces and
happy HS I know I have fulfilled my
purpose by the time I let them go it's
like they don't want to leave because we
have created that bond that relationship
and that's what family is all about it's
like you know you grow to to love each
other when you say goodbye to them
everyone's like no we don't want you to
leave we're one big family now it's hard
to just let you go say can you take can
I take you with me it's harder than you
think it is everyone that comes in here
I see them as part of my family that
alone is my motivation to help them you
know I want to give them the best
experience I want to make sure that just
like my own family when they leave I
know I've done everything that I could
possibly do to help them enjoy their
experience here cuz by doing that I know
