most well known for his work on the

courts of Heaven he has a book by that

title that has sold over 1 million

copies so obviously it's a very

well-known and popular teaching and

because of that I thought it would be

fitting and appropriate that we do what

the Bible tells us to do and to test

that teaching to see if it is biblical

so that is exactly what we are going to

be doing today but first Hello friends

my name is Matt welcome to my channel if

this is your first time here if you

we're going to go about it today is

we're going to look at three clips of

Robert Henderson speaking on the courts

of heaven after each clip I will come

back we'll open up our Bibles and we

will compare what he is teaching to the

word of God so let's go ahead and jump

into our first clip

you know many times when we think about

God being the judge it's really a

frightening thing we think he's gonna

we're gonna stand before him we're going

to give an account and that will happen

the Bible says at the Judgment seat of

Christ but did you know that God today

is the judge of all in our behalf in the

Book of Luke chapter 18 verses 1 through

8 we find Jesus putting prayer into a

judicial system which allows us to come

before God as judge as the chosen of God

that God might render verdicts in our

behalf against everything that would try

to afflict us and stop us I want to

encourage you today to stay tuned

because we're going to step into the

courts of heaven and we're going to

discover that God as judge is waiting he

is awaiting us to come and present a

case that he might have the legal right

to judge the adversary and stop all of

his works against us stay tuned

all right so there's a couple of things

that I want to point out from that first

clip at some point Robert Henderson said

in Luke 18 we see Jesus putting prayer

into a judicial system and so what he

seems to be attempting to convey there

is that he believes that Luke 18 is a

commentary about how prayer works and

that God is sitting as judge in a

courtroom and he is awaiting us to enter

into that courtroom to present our case

to him so that we might give him legal

rights to render judgment in our behalf

well friends I would like to remind you

that Luke 18 is a parable it's the

parable of the persistent Widow and I

would like to look at the definition of

parable real quick it is a simple story

used to illustrate a moral or spiritual

lesson so it is a story that is driving

towards one particular lesson it does

not mean that every single detail in

that Parable somehow has some sort of

significant meaning so what is the main

point that Jesus was driving at in this

Parable in Luke 18. well thankfully the

Bible gives us the answer in 18 verse 1.

it says and he told them a parable to

the effect that they ought always to

pray and not lose heart so this Parable

was about persistence in prayer it was

not trying to detail how prayer works

and that there's a Heavenly courtroom

with God presiding as judge waiting for

you to give him legal rights so that he

can render a judgment on your behalf

that is not what is taking place here at

all and when you make a parable every

single detail some sort of significant

spiritual meaning you mess it up and if

that were the way that we were to read

Parables you would have to go to a

parable like the parable of the mustard

seed and say that we are by faith

supposed to enter into The Gardens of

heaven and somehow plant something their

friends that's not what it's about this

Parable is not teaching that this is how

prayer Works he is saying saying you

need to persist in prayer you need to

keep on persevering as you pray I also

want to address what he talked about

about giving God legal rights basically

granting him permission so that he can

render these judgments on your behalf

friends think about this

who do you give permission to or think

about it this way

the relationship between a parent and a

child who is giving whom permission does

the child give the parent permission to

spend their own money no the parent

gives the child permission to spend the

money what about at your work do you go

to the owner of your business and say I

give you permission to take vacation

time

the owner does not need permission you

need permission from the owner perhaps

if you want to go take vacation time so

when you are saying that we are giving

God legal rights basically we are

granting him permission to do something

it's putting Mankind in the position of

authority over God and saying that God

cannot do it unless we give him

permission now you might say well that

sounds good and everything but you can't

back that up with scripture oh but but I

can't friends look at this in Psalm

we're going to look at two verses out of

Psalms uh Psalm 115 and verse 3 and then

Psalm 135 and verse 6. now I want you to

see does this sound like God is

powerless and is waiting on us to give

him permission to do anything and that

he needs legal rights that only we can

grant to him well Psalm 115 and verse 3

says our God is in the heavens he does

all that he pleases Psalm 135 and verse

6 says whatever the Lord pleases he he

does in heaven and on Earth in the seas

and all deeps friends God does not need

our permission he does whatever he wants

so I think that Robert Henderson is off

to a really bad start here but let's see

if it potentially gets any better let's

go ahead and jump into our second clip

prayer is not trying to convince God to

do something for you you see that's a

common misconception that prayer is

something that I'm trying to convince

God somehow or another to move in my

behalf and in behalf of my situation

that's not prayer prayer is actually

stepping into a spiritual realm where

God is Jesus said that where I am there

you may be also it is stepping into a

spiritual realm where God is and

actually agreeing with him and working

together with him to see things shift

into divine order so that what's in

heaven can come into the Earth all right

I want to start with what Robert

Henderson said at the very beginning of

that clip he said prayer is not trying

to convince God I want to take a second

to acknowledge friends that is very true

prayer is not trying to convince God you

don't use some sort of persuasive

rhetoric and all of a sudden God goes

you know what you've convinced me I'm

going to answer prayer now no that is

not what prayer is at all so he is

correct in his assessment there but

let's see if his next statement on

prayer is correct he said quote prayer

is stepping into a spiritual realm and

agreeing with God and working with him

to see things shift so that what's in

heaven can come to Earth

friends when you read the Bible are you

going to find a passage of scripture or

any sort of verse that is going to

support his definition for what prayer

is in that whole last clip the only

verse that he even attempted to use to

support his teaching was a verse that

comes out of John 14 and verse 3 where

Jesus talks about where I am there you

will be also and he he seems to be

insinuating that that's the part about

prayer stepping into a spiritual realm

and so we're going to step into the

spiritual realm where Jesus is and if

that's the case if that's what John 14 3

is about then when I read that passage

in its context I should expect it to be

about Jesus saying that we through

prayer enter into this spiritual realm

where he is well let's read John 14

we're going to look at verses one

through six and see if that's what's

taking place

let not your hearts be troubled believe

in God believe also in me in my father's

house are many rooms if it were not so

would I have told you that I go to

prepare a place for you and if I go and

prepare a place for you I will come

again and take you to myself that where

I am you may be also and you know the

way to where I am going Thomas said to

him Lord we do not know where you are

going how can we know the way Jesus said

to him I am the way and the truth and

the life no one comes to the father

except through me friends this is

talking about Jesus making a way for us

to get to heaven he has made a way and

in fact he is the way for us to get to

heaven and when we are in heaven we will

indeed be where he is so this verse this

passage has nothing to do with a

spiritual realm that we enter through

prayer so that we can be in the same

place where God Is So Robert Henderson

is horrifically mangling and twisting

that that portion of scripture to make

it say something that it it most

definitively does not say now let's

focus on the last part of his definition

of prayer when he says it's about

agreeing with God and working with him

to shift things I'm really glad that the

disciples asked Jesus how they should

pray so let's just go to Luke chapter 11

we'll make this pretty quick and we'll

see how Jesus responded to that question

this is verses one through four

now Jesus was praying in a certain place

and when he finished one of his

disciples said to him Lord teach us to

pray as John taught his disciples and he

said to them when you pray say God I

agree with you and now I'm going to work

with you to shift things that's not what

it says he said father Hallowed Be Your

Name Your Kingdom come give us each day

our daily bread and forgive us our sins

for we ourselves forgive everyone who is

indebted to us and lead us not into

temptation when Jesus taught on prayer

he did not say anything about agreeing

with God he did not say anything about

giving God permission it's all about

asking God right we thank God for who he

is what he's done he is the focus of the

prayer and we are asking him for things

so Robert Henderson doesn't even have a

correct biblical understanding of what

prayer is and how we are supposed to go

about praying and I want to go ahead and

address address this now because I think

many people who have bought his book um

who have read it or who listened to his

teaching they do so because they want to

go higher they want to go deeper in

their prayer life they're like I I want

to feel like my prayers are

accomplishing something and I want to

acknowledge and validate that and say

hey that's good like if you desire to

have a more flourishing prayer life that

is a really good thing and I think

that's why people are gravitating

towards this sort of teaching because

it's now you can enter into the courts

of heaven and you follow these steps and

you do these things and it's how your

prayer becomes effective but friends I

hope that you will see that the big

problem with this is this is not how we

have been told in the Bible by God

himself Jesus who is God manifest In the

Flesh how prayer works and how we are

supposed to go about doing it and so

ultimately you might feel like you're

accomplishing a whole lot of things

because you have this secret knowledge

and these super spiritual tactics that

you're using but ultimately you are not

really accomplishing anything because

what you are doing is not really prayer

so entering the court of Heaven which he

doesn't even tell you how to do that

what does that even mean and then how do

I make my legal petition and how do I

give God permission how do I give him

the legal rights so that he can grant

these judgments like it's all so vague

but it feels like you're doing something

really spiritual but friends you just

need to know this is not supported by

scripture at all and I want you to

actually have a flourishing prayer life

and you would do it if you just

persevere in prayer keep asking God keep

trusting in Him and let him handle their

results alright friends we do have one

more clip that we need to get to so

let's go ahead and check it out

sometimes when we read that or think

about that like that well we know he's

going to be the judge you know after

everything's said and done and we're

standing before him in the Hereafter and

we're going to be judged and that's true

we will be judged we will all come

before the Judgment seat of Christ but

did you know he's also judged today

and that he literally wants you to come

before him

and present and put present your case

and petition him in that place called if

you will the court of Heaven let me show

you some scriptures Hebrews 12 verse 23

it says uh the writer of Hebrew says we

have come to the General Assembly Church

of the firstborn who arrested in heaven

watch this to God the judge of all it's

quite interesting he does not say to the

Lord to the Savior or any other term

that would Express who Jesus is he

actually says you have come in a

spiritual Dimension as a new testament

believer you have come before God as the

judge of all now why is that important

because judges rule Judicial Systems so

you need to understand I have to

understand that we literally can step

into the judicial system of Heaven let

me show you where you see the clearest

picture of this Daniel 7 verse 9 through

10. he said watch till Thrones were put

into place and the Ancient of Days was

seated such a powerful statement watch

and the hair of his head was like pure

wool his strong was a fiery flame its

wheel of burning fire a fiery stream

issued and came forth from before him a

thousands thousands ministered to him

ten thousands time ten thousand stood

before him watch the court the court was

seated and the books were opened So

Daniel as one who could see into the

Unseen realm he said look he said I saw

this court where God as judge was

sitting called the Ancient of Days and

it says and the books were open and and

from these books the court was

petitioned in other words a case a cry a

desire a petition came to the Lord as

judge of all asking for judgment in a

given situation now let me just say this

judgment is not the activity of an Angry

God judgment is simply a decision

rendered that sets things into divine

order

okay guys there's a lot that I want to

say in that last clip but I'm going to

try to narrow my focus and just pay

attention to the two passages of

scripture that he was attempting to use

to support his courts of Heaven teaching

anytime anyone is teaching on any topic

and with Robert Henderson he's he's

trying to get people to buy into this

idea of the Courts of heaven and

remember he is not just saying that God

is judged in an ultimate sense but that

God is sitting in a courtroom currently

and we can enter that courtroom and

bring our case before him and we can

grant him legal rights to issue verdicts

on our behalf and he is trying to point

to these two passages of scripture which

I guess would have to be like his two

most clear points that he believes

proves his teaching as biblical but

friends I think we are going to see if

we look at those passages of scripture

it is very clear that it does not

support Robert Henderson's teaching so

let's start in Hebrews chapter 12. and

we're going to read verses 18 through

24.

for you have not come to what may be

touched a blazing fire and darkness and

Gloom and a tempest and the sound of a

trumpet in a voice whose words made the

hearers beg that no further message be

spoken to them for they could not endure

the order that was given if even a beast

touches the mountain it shall be stoned

indeed so terrifying was the sight that

Moses said I tremble with fear but you

have come to Mount Zion into the city of

the Living God the heavenly Jerusalem

into innumerable angels in Festival

Gathering and to the assembly of the

firstborn who are enrolled in heaven and

to God the judge of all and to the

spirits of the righteous made perfect

and to Jesus the mediator of a New

Covenant into the sprinkled blood that

speaks a better word than the blood of

Abel friends I am currently doing a

study on this channel through the book

of Hebrews so be sure to subscribe if

refer to Hebrews as the greater than uh

book because so much much of it is about

superiority and greater than so Jesus is

superior to the angels He is the Supreme

Superior high priest he is superior to

Moses to Abraham to all these different

people and so we see that theme

mentioned here in our passage that

Robert Henderson was trying to use for

courts of Heaven what we see taking

place in reality In this passage it is

is it is showing the superiority of the

New Covenant over the old Covenant so in

the old Covenant God was Judge over his

people yes in the New Covenant God

continues to be judged but now it says

he is the judge of all and to the

spirits of the righteous made perfect so

now God as our judge in the New Covenant

when he judges me he is going to see me

as the righteous made perfect not

because of the things that I've done in

my flesh but rather because of the

finished work of Christ on my behalf

that has been imputed to me and so this

is talking about about the New Covenant

being superior to the old covenant not

about the courts of Heaven God sitting

in his courtroom waiting for us to Grant

him permission to do things on our

behalf the other passage of scripture he

attempted to use was from The Book of

Daniel that is unfortunately a book that

it seems like many people twist because

there are some vague things going on

there they're just a little bit more

difficult to understand so it seems like

a lot of people take advantage of that

and so what we need to know is in Daniel

chapter 7 Daniel is having this

tremendous Vision that he sees and

eventually the vision is explained to

him so let's look at part of this Vision

this is going to we're going to start

with verses 9 through 12. it says as I

looked Thrones were placed and the

Ancient of Days took his seat his

clothing was white as snow and the hair

of his head like pure wool his throne

was fiery Flames its Wheels were burning

fire a stream of fire issued and came

out from before him a thousand thousands

served him and Ten Thousand Times Ten

Thousand stood before him the court sat

in judgment and the books were opened I

looked then because of the sound of the

great words that the horn was speaking

and as I looked the Beast was killed and

its body destroyed and given over to be

burned with fire as for the rest of the

beasts their Dominion was taken away but

their lives were prolonged for a season

and a time so we see this vivid imagery

this Vision that Daniel is having and if

we read through the rest of chapter 7

which I'm going to skip some parts just

for the sake of time we see that shortly

thereafter here we see the next heading

in my Bible says the son of man is given

dominion and then after that it says

Daniel's Vision interpreted so God is in

his kindness going to allow Daniel to

know what his vision was all about and

so let's skip down now to verses 23 to

27 to see part of the explanation of

this vision

thus he said as for the fourth Beast

there shall be a fourth Kingdom on Earth

which shall be different from all the

kingdoms and it shall Devour the whole

earth and trample it down and break it

to Pieces as for the ten horns out of

this Kingdom Ten Kings shall arise and

another shall arise after them he shall

be different from the former ones and

shall put down three kings he shall

speak words against the most high and

shall wear out the Saints of the most

high and shall think to change the times

and the law and they shall be given into

his hand for a time times and half a

Time but the court shall sit in judgment

and his Dominion shall be taken away to

be consumed and destroyed to the end and

the kingdom and the Dominion and the

greatness of the kingdoms under the

whole Heaven shall be given to the

people of the Saints of the most high

his kingdom shall be an everlasting

Kingdom and all dominions Shall Serve

and Obey him so we see friends that this

does have to do with end times events

where God is going to rise up overthrow

the power of Satan of the Antichrist and

all Dominion will be given to him and

his people and we are going to reign

with him forever and so uh you know it's

interesting because Robert Henderson

says this is all about the here and now

and God sitting in his courts and he's

going to answer prayers when you give

him permission and that is just so

clearly not what is happening in this

text so friends I hope you will see that

as I said before this whole teaching on

the courts of Heaven is just simply

unbiblical and unfortunately it is

leading to many people having

ineffective prayer life because they're

not doing what the Bible calls prayer

they're doing something notes that this

person claims that he got in these

special Visions in Revelation friends

this is this is gnosticism somebody

claiming special Revelation from God

that nobody else has the Bible has

everything that we need to live the life

that God desires from us so if somebody

comes with some sort of special

Revelation some special teaching that

cannot be clearly supported in the Bible

friends we are to reject it I have

listened to a handful of videos from

Robert Henderson unfortunately this

seems to be a consistent pattern with

him so I do highly recommend that you

stay away from his teaching by all means

certainly do not buy his courts of

heaven but he does not need financial

support more than he has already gotten

from people who are reading things that

are just not backed up by the Bible
