as you can probably tell we've really

been looking forward to this trip to

Florida and I got the truck all cleaned

up at jaxwax but unfortunately we're

going to be driving down there in the

rain that means not only the truck but

the cars and everything else that's on

an open trailer will be filthy dirty by

the time we get to Florida although

Billy's cars which never get a bath are

sitting in the enclosed trailer so he's

good to go I on the other hand knowing

this was a possibility made a trip to

jaxwax and picked up everything I would

need to clean the cars once we got the

Florida however they never got loaded in

the enclosed trailer it's no big deal

I'm sure we'll be able to find someplace

down there to get the cars cleaned up if

it ever quits raining and it eventually

did by the time we got down into

Virginia and North Carolina we plan on

stopping in Charlotte to stay the night

in this real bougie hotel that Billy got

us hooked up with the hotel is really

nice albeit pretty expensive and parking

well there's plenty of that so long as

you don't have a truck and trailer and

we realized that as we turned off the

main Highway way to go back towards the

hotel the hotel is surrounded by tow

houses and these little strip malls

which is probably why it has its own

parking garage and Billy's starting to

figure that out as we look for somewhere

to park these two trucks and trailers

didn't yeah right there beside those

Town Homes I guess Junior wasn't in the

mood to listen to my sarcasm anyway the

search for a parking area for the trucks

and trailers begins and big brain Tanner

has a solution you're the big brain look

at the parking lot that I found

hidden back behind the hotel there was a

fairly large parking lot not intended

for trucks and trailers but more along

the lines of all the cars that would be

visiting and parking in the morning when

all the local businesses open up at this

point it's about 2:30 in the morning and

all of us are pretty tired so the main

thing we're focused on is getting a room

getting out of the trucks and trailers

and getting some sleep before we have to

get up in the morning and hit the road

again however when we got into the hotel

there was one of us that was irritable

and slightly hungry what's the matter

that Ramen you can buy at Walmart for a

dollar I want $5 for it well he was

trying to tell us he was trying to tell

us tell him tell him this guy's being

too nice

Tanner didn't sleep in the truck but I

wish I would have although he's got some

kind of an apparatus strapped to his

schn to keep him from snoring he still

next morning took a shower and commenced

himself awake at least enough to operate

we got in last night but after getting a

few hours of sleep he's in a little bit

better mood or at least he was was hey

holding it on so I knew it was bound to

happen what do you mean it only had two

front wheels off before we left to put

brakes on the truck and has an

explanation when somebody tries to put

destroys the threads so they do this and

they just don't get tight there's like

this this one has like three or four of

hold it on but that one only had like

three or four decently holding on

so now we're on to the next problem of

the day when we pulled in last night I

had plenty of fuel but Billy and the

kids were definitely running low do two

oh 30 40 Mi so perfect I didn't want to

have to stop again right before we get

to the hotel you know that would

inconvenience me at 400 in the morning

brothers out getting breakfast so

thankfully we managed to get out of the

parking lot before it filled up and got

back on the highway we just need to stop

and get fuel at this love station it was

the closest station to the hotel and

likely the only one within range of

Billy's fuel supply and evidently Billy

isn't the only one out of fuel this

morning the place is packed but Billy

has no choice he pulled in line and

waited and waited and waited since Bob's

truck has dual tanks and gets a little

bit better fuel economy I elected to

turn the truck around out back and sit

this out and watch all the truck drivers

get pissed off trying to get in and out

of this place Tanner was a little upset

too of course it's a Swift Driver who

blocks the road

internet he do have anger issues he does

he just sassy might need to pay for his

anger management classes or something

all right the longer we sat there and

watched this Fiasco take place the more

agitated Tanner got we decided to get

the hell out of the love station

because something bad was about to

happen Steve was getting

upset I don't know he's got anger

problems so we're just sitting out here

along the uh entrance ramp to 77 waiting

on Junior to finish filling up his fuel

tank eventually we were back on the road

headed south without incident down

through Georgia and finally made our way

into Florida under Cloudy Skies but

thankfully dry roads our goal for this

evening is to make our way down to the

Airbnb which is about 45 minutes outside

of downtown Orlando once we made it to

the Airbnb all we needed to do was

unpack the trucks and trailers and bring

in all the essentials that we need for

good night's rest and to be able to do

have really hit it off mostly over their

fascination with virtual reality and

video games which seem to be the

highlight of the trip thus far for the

pair of them however there is definitely

a competitive Spirit between the two of

them no it looks like you're beating me

we switched controllers and felt bad the

boy stayed up late that night playing

video games I on the other hand needed

to get some sleep because I have

something I have to take care of in the

morning that I'm not looking forward to

and by the looks of Tanner it looks like

I'm going to be doing it alone well guys

I got a special Mission this morning I

was going to take Steve but he stayed up

all night playing video games so I'm

going to let him sleep he's all excited

about seeing Taylor Ray today maybe so I

want him to be in good spirits so here's

the situation Jimmy Dale and Morgan

broke down last night at an Advanced

Auto Parts Place just outside of Orlando

for some reason the Monte Carlo was

overheating and Jimmy got underneath the

hood to investigate his investigation

led him to the burn unit in the hospital

and my hand is messed up look that neck

damn

son take anything out around it just got

to get some more on that one here but

this one much done clearly Jimmy Dale's

not going to be in any condition to work

on that Monte Carlo anytime soon so my

first mission for today

is to take the truck and trailer into

Orlando and pick up Jimmy's Monte Carlo

before it ends up getting towed away and

possibly impounded all right I got

Jimmy's Monte Carlo all loaded up we're

going to take it back home with us I

think I mean for right now that's the

plan we're going to take it home with us

and Bob's got Jimmy's 434 up here shop

freshing it up we may just go ahead and

take that car home put that 434 in it

for Jimmy and help him get back on his

feet after loading the car up I made my

way through some traffic back out onto

the freeway and back to the Airbnb to

help the kids get ready to go to Orlando

Speed World to hang out with Taylor Ray

but unfortunately the kids would have to

go on without me well we left the house

and I got less than a block away and

this thing died fuel pump's out of it

something's wrong I don't know it's not

pulling fuel from the tank I don't know

whether the pump's bad whether a line

has rotted off underneath the car I

don't know I don't have anything here to

work on it with other than one

screwdriver and uh I don't know so I let

the kids go on to Orlando Speed World

I'm going to walk back to the house grab

Bob's truck and Jimmy's Car on the

trailer and I'm going to drive that to

AutoZone hopefully go get a little

inline fuel pump I can stick on this and

either diagnose what's wrong with it or

fix it hopefully fix it thankfully I

only made it about a block before it

died so I only got to walk a block back

to get to Bob truck just one of those

things with an old

car you know I I haven't driven that car

but maybe 20 M since we bought it and

this is the first time

we've tried to drive it anywhere really

okay so the good news is there's an Auto

Zone 6 minutes and 2 and 1/2 miles away

from the Airbnb so I jumped in Bob's

truck and took the truck and trailer

down to AutoZone to hopefully go pick up

some parts to fix the El Camino and get

it back on the road it's kind of ironic

that I'm having all these problems cuz I

just had a talk with Jimmy last night

about working through adversity and

making the best out of every situation

just had this talk with Jimmy just

yesterday it's adversity suck it up make

the best out of it don't waste good

content so I'm doing the best I can to

keep a positive attitude and work

through my problems knowing I've got

this a whole lot easier than Jimmy Dale

especially since all I've got to do is

replace his fuel filter with an inline

Orlando Speed World and then headed

straight to the gas station to top off

the cooler with ice and pop now although

we're down here for sick week which is a

dragon Drive event there's something

else going on today at Orlando speed

world that's a little bit outside of our

wheel house typically we would be

spending our time at the drag strip in

fact that's probably where we should be

testing for this week's event but the

kids have gotten an opportunity to do

something a little different instead of

going to the drag strip today we're

going to hang a left at the front gate

and head back towards the oval track you

see there's a guy on YouTube named

Taylor Ray that does drifting but

Taylor's recently picked up an interest

in no prep drag racing and he's picked

up his very first no prep drag car

chassis since Taylor and his crew watch

our Channel religiously the kids jumped

at the chance to go out and spend some

time at the drift track with Taylor and

share some information about drifting

and drag racing and who knows this may

open the door to some collaboration work

between us and Taylor Ray's crew later

on this summer there was even mentioned

earlier today about Taylor taking the

boys a ride in his Corvette drift car

it's a pretty wild setup powered by a

427 cubic in LS motor with twin turbos

of course it's electronically fuel

injected on E85 and is absolutely a

purpose-built drift car but

unfortunately today Taylor's having

problems with the Corvette just like

we're having with the El Camino fuel

system problems and of course it has to

happen the first time I show up to meet

him Believe It or Not Taylor actually

watches my channel and knows how much I

despise fuel injection

hate it's fuel injection problems what

I'm losing a whole Bank randomly no

that's not true that's not possible

Taylor fuel injection is the best thing

ever I mean I would have said so until

today I'm hoping I can fix this this car

has never had any problems like the

entire time since we built it not in

issue and then it sat for 3

months it just loses this whole Bank

randomly well I mean I got a carburetor

over

there there we go just slap hey for the

record I had to fix my carburetor car

just to get here see but it wasn't the

carburetor it was actually the fuel pump

oh okay 1965 El Camino fuel pump went

out of it on the way here so I ran to

AutoZone got me an inline electric

scabbed it in there ran one wire to the

ignition coil and the other one the old

fuel pump that ground it and away we go

is it it's factory mechanical pump on

that yeah I have this car with cars

they're like bike cars but I have so

much trouble with the fuel pump

situation I have a carb fuel pump but it

just overflows the bowls and like it

doesn't shut off have like an inline

regulator yeah like all our stuff's

return style is that you don't do you

not run return stuff on cards oh yeah I

run return on everything okay so maybe

that maybe I just need to run a return

that's what I'm thinking if you try and

dead head stuff it's not it don't work

out so I don't I'm like I don't see how

this could possibly regulate the

pressure if it's just in line it doesn't

make any sense to right okay so I'm not

crazy not crazy maybe a little a little

for sure just like every car regulator I

find is like that like out you know but

this it'll go through a LP and then at

the end it'll just boost this whole

thing real it's weird I don't

this fancy put carb on all the wiring is

behind I know I know all about fancy

wiring back in behind intakes and fuel

injectors and plugs and sensors and this

intake I I love it cuz it fits under the

hood yeah yeah yeah yeah and like I got

the car it came with it I didn't buy it

but it's so it is the one

non-serviceable item on this car like

everything else we designed to be real

easy to work on this not easy to work on

CU if I have to pull the intake man to

pull i'

but my my Quil pack connectors are
